Give The Queen of Blades zerglings?? What could go wrong?! | HotS Co-Op Campaign

We're back with co-op and starting off the Heart of The Swarm campaign with an awesome start. Harstem couldn't find his bootleg copy of HoTS, Valerian thought it would be a good idea to give Kerrigan a couple zerg units, and we make all the zerglings possible to break out of this containment facility.

I agree that higher-difficulty ai would be more fun to watch than higher-damage units, if I remember correctly, the evil tactics ai can do some funny stuff but don't quote me on that.

3:55 Beyond All Reason has been in development for around 10 years now, it started as a different project, on a custom engine (called "Spring") made to essentially port Total Annihilation, a 1998 game, to full 3D. If memory serves, it started as "Balanced Annihilation" I think, which was a mod that aimed to rebalance the game for multiplayer, and slowly evolved into its own game. It went through an art pass or 2 before becoming BAR. If I'm also not mistaken, it may also have been a "Total Annihilation" fan remake or sequel at some point? Not entirely sure on that last one.

Sad to say I never played the Co-Op feature when it came out. Wings of Liberty was kind of that shining moment when it seemed the world was interested in SC again and after WoL it just seemed to die again and Co-Op only started during HoTS.

Streamdeck is goated for anyone that works on their computer all day. Programmers, editors, digital artists, streamers. Even some pure gamers, you could put the sc2 control grid on it and have it act fully dynamically. If you didn't want to learn the hotkeys. To be honest I did that for hell divers calldowns. Second best thing it does is put back buttons to smart lights while keeping 100% diming and color controls.

She didn’t murder billions. If you are not in control of yourself because you were captured infected/changed by aliens against your will, the actions you take can’t be considered yours. Everything she did when she willingly changed back while still being in control of herself she is responsible for with an asterisk because that first changed effected her decisions/choices that came afterwards. That’s what makes it such a great story. The StarCraft story to me is one of the best sci-fi stories period.

It is very ambigious to what extent she was in control of herself though. She outright lies to Valeron at the start when she says "I don't remember anything about being the queen of blades" because the first cutscene was her dreaming about being the queen of blades and taking down Mensk, she also effortlessly remembers how to create overlords and zerglings. She also is obsessed with killing Mensk and destroying the Terran Dominion. She clearly does have large gaps in her memory, but I think it was on purpose that the true extent of just how much she had control of herself is left vague.

@@sevenpolar3483 that wasn’t a lie. Having a dream about something that never happened is not the same as remembering events that actually happened. She said she feels something dark inside of her and is afraid of it. She went from trying to kill Jim, the man she loved and everyone around him to them being together when she was back in control of herself. That says a lot about the influence the Zerg had on her.

@@moety2 the cutscene clearly contains things she does remember, she dreams about the leviathan and being the queen of blades, she later remembers details about her queens and Abathur. If she truly had no memory of her time as the Queen of Blades she wouldn't remember anything past her betrayal on Tarsonis. She also doesn't hesitate to take control of the Zerg again in this mission, every action she does reinforces that she isn't scared of becoming the queen of blades, she is scared of what Raynor or Valeron will do if she appears to become so.

@@sevenpolar3483 the cutscene also had her walking on the downed statue. That didn’t happen. It showed bc crashing to the planet. That didn’t happen. These can just as well be memories of things from before she was changed because they are things not actual events. Yes as she went along she was GAINING memories. That means she didn’t remember. Her saying she didn’t remember anything about being the queen of blades doesn’t means she would never start to remember. The campaign was basically her relearning and remembering things she forgot along with battling with her humanity. Still, none of this invalidates my point. She can’t be held accountable for killing billions. She was captured against her will, her body changed against her will, her mind and personality altered against her will, controlled against her will. Anything she done while under those circumstances was not her choice and thus not her fault. Even if she remembered everything about being the QoB at the start, she would still not be responsible.
