I don't even like Kiniemon very much but i felt for him when i see him cry. I like Shutenmaru and have huge sympathy for those who had to wait 20 years for this moment, i think people undermine how unbearably long that actually is. And the cliff hanger really worked for me in selling the ominous feeling. In general it was a really solid beginning of act 3 for me

New arcs do not have to be written like old arcs to be good. Have faith friends! The setup for every one piece arc makes much more sense once we see the plotlines start to come to fruition, we dont know yet how the things Oda set up will come into play. I'm sure that there are parts of Act 2 that he hopes we forget about or brush off so that later down the line he can put a spin on them and make all that setup worth it. But if he doesn't and it sucks... my b

thank u, things dont always have to be the same for it to be good. also the pacing complaint. like if we had two or so chapters watching everyone prepare for the fight, so like luffy training, franky getting the ships ready, kinemon gathering swords/weapons etc. then the complaint would be that things r going too slow and that we dont need to see all that stuff. i actually think oda handled this part perfectly where he showed us what everyone was doing in preparation and then just jumps a couple days since things wouldve been the exact same. sometimes i also dont like the pacing but this particular complaint got on my nerves since no thought went into it. btw, jellybean boys for life

We have been told that the roger pirates liked oden, just like we have been told that de 9 scabbards are loyal to oden, but now we are seeing it, thus making us care more about their friendship. Also, there were some people asking why did the roger pirates did not help oden when kaido took over wano, this flashback clears that question.

in that chapter just before Kaidou appeared as a dragon, Kiniemon already told the Strawhats about Oden, and they all look incredibly shocked to hear about his death. the only people who are missing out on his flashback are us, the readers.

@@AdamVoidless im not gonna say i don't care cause i definitely do to an extend. Particularly those who had to wait 20 years for this day, lots of people don't realize how insanely long that was. I think it will all clear up once we get to see their flashback. For example Kyros and Rebecca from Dressrosa, that was pretty late in the arc did we get to see their story and it was one of the most tragic one for me.

What if Kaido had the Egg-Egg fruit Dragon Version like Tamagos fruit, Kaido was killed 38 years ago then he went into egg form and Roger carried it on his ship out of curiosity and he cracked when they got on Wano and Kaido hid until 5 years later he took over Wano. That would explain why he doesn't die... Kappa?

Roger died 24 years ago, so the flashback is definitely right before the crew disbanded, after they found the One Piece.

What's the complaining all about? Ppl said THIS IS ZORO's chapter arc but ODA has to cover The Red Scap, Zoro, Luffy's development, Oden history as in Wano/Roger crew/White Beard crew, history of Wano, Kaido and his involvement and history, etc.... That's too much to cover in an average arc. Wano has too much involvement in OP compared to most arcs. But y'all want a quick fast " hurry up and fight Kaido" arcs but want a back story/flashback of the Red Scaps, Oden, etc... Wano is a has too much to cover, I just here to enjoy a free ride since 1999

thank u, they want all the flashbacks/back stories but want the the fight to start immediately. they complain about oda jumping 8(?) days in the story when everyone was just getting ready for the big fight so there really wasnt anything to show other than what oda did show us. if he had showed those 8 days then they would complain how things r going too slow. to me there r true fans who enjoy things the way they r and only complain/dislike sth for genuine reasons or cuz thats just how they genuinely feel and then there r those who complain just to complain and i dont think i need to say which category some of them fall under

After this chapter im on Shinobu for traitor. She's the only one looking to the side in the panel of the Scabbards looking at Onigashima, which could be signifying that she has a different goal than them. IF SHE IS THE TRAITOR then I think its a situation where she actually still loves the scabbards but she's been around Wano, Orochi and Kaido for the past 20 years, she knows they can't win. Orochi could have told her that he won't kill them if she told them where they would be, so she could just be trying to spare the scabbards. Also, when she was crying in this chapter it couldve been from guilt. Shinobu told Orochi the plan about the port and when they see that the port is destroyed she feels responsible, she thought nothing bad was going to happen to anyone.
