My Kawasaki Versys 650 in NZ vibrated only in the footpegs. Whenever I'd get off after a long ride, my foot kept vibbing. And that's with wearing thick motorcycle shoes. Looking forward to this review. My Himalayan has been good.

I own this bike and it’s brilliant! Smooth linear power! You can really roll the throttle and stay in control I would rather have the gear indicator than a Tachometer. I’m glad the ground clearance is over 6 1/2 inches you can lean on the bike nicely. Everything works in good harmony with this bike! Cheers Allan USA

I just bought the 350 Meteor and love it! - Its comfortable and responsive along with great fuel efficiency. In my view it appears to have all the power and speed It needs and cant see the point of having more considering the speed limits we have to abide by anyway.

Concern again with the reliability of new Engines from Royal Enfield & Testing (Himalayan BS3 Case) Also remove the windshield and backrest and you have a Thunderbird 350x Also a 6th gear would have helped for cruising maybe? Product looks promising though.

I agree with the 6th gear. I would have wanted it. The design is similar but seen in the flesh, it isn't a TBX for sure. Reliablity we can always only tell after a while

For the kind of speeds that this bike would do, 5th gear is the touring gear also there wouldn't be much torque available at top to push it so much that u would start to miss the 6th gear.

@@mangoshek69 I would say that 6th would be a cruise gear. That means low revs at a high speed and yes, it might mean downshifting for overtaking but there's solid utility to a top gear like that for touring

Engine reliability should be fine. After all these engines are not engineered in house by them. But we'll have to wait and watch. As for the 6th gear...it won't be of much use as this thing really does not have much torque for the current 5th gear ratio.

I fully agree to your last comment . That just extra bit would have changed the game completely. If RE would have added that extra 10%, it would have changed the game to completely no competition. I just saw it in the flesh and it looks fabulous. It's proportionate and macho and seems very well made. Besides, the thump is powerful and very authentic and will carry the RE legacy forward. To all the people calling it a Thunderbird with a different paint scheme, get educated first. The bike is built on a entirely new platform (J Platform) and uses a new engine that produces more power than the current 346cc engine. Also, new double cradle chassis, new instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation, improved rake angle and new paint schemes. Hence the new "Meteor" moniker and the discontinuation of the Thunderbird series post BS6. What more do you want?

I use RE Thunderbird 350cc from last 8 years. Lot of qualitative issues. Except the feel of riding it at 70-80km it is a pack of ongoing problems. I think Honda CB350 is a very good option if available from regular honda dealerships. This is my honest opinion as a RE user.
