You should pin a comment here noting that the standard Kaweco 060 nib unit can be used with this pen, so it's very simple to get any nib size you like, including EF, F, M, B, and BB. in gold-colored, silver-colored and black options from a number of retailers who offer them!

Where can I find instructions on swapping out just the nib? Keeping the insert unchanged.
@iliyana0062 жыл бұрын
As someone in that 12% it's always astonished me that everyone always wants to write bigger. 😂 It's prettier for Instagram when it's bigger but for every day writing I'd rather be able to fit a larger amount of writing in the same space.
@PurtyPurple2 жыл бұрын
But all those pretty pretty inks...
@MarshaLove07232 жыл бұрын
Ditto. I have a handful of larger nibs to show off certain inks, but my natural handwriting is too small for them; I have to purposefully write larger to keep my letters from running together. I've slowly adjusted up to a F nib for normal writing with a fountain pen, but still use an EF when I'm taking quick notes for myself during meetings. And rare gel/ballpoint use is still with micro fine tips.
@PERPowns2 жыл бұрын
Agreed! 90% of my fountain pens are EF. I use them for sketching/drawing and writing and really enjoy it. I don't mind my bigger nibs but I really prefer EF and F.
@iliyana0062 жыл бұрын
@@MarshaLove0723 I find that when I force myself to write larger, the larger it gets, the more my penmanship decreases until it looks like a kid's writing 😁
@iliyana0062 жыл бұрын
@@PERPowns Yes! I mean when sketching you can always cover a greater space with a smaller nib but you can't make a smaller line with a larger nib

The extra fine nib choice makes sense since it's meant to be an edc pen. If you're carrying it around it's more likely to come into contact with crappy paper that works better with an EF nib

@leosumiko76092 жыл бұрын
I think the EF nib match the edc purpose, you can write or doodle with it in almost every paper that you can find directly
@jenntaiga33162 жыл бұрын
I think that, for a pocket pen, only selling it with an ef nib makes sense! Given the context as a pen designed to be brought out into the world, it's reasonable to expect one would be using this on less than ideal papers; which, at least in my opinion, is better suited to an EF nib that'll be less prone to feathering due to reduced ink flow.

Great pen! Thanks for the review. A question about collecting and using. How do you keep track of your pen usage and how do you determine when to use a pen?
@Danny.._2 жыл бұрын
i think the "EDC" id the reason it's extra fine - if it's supposed to be everyday carry then you'd be expecting to use it on all sorts of low quality paper out in the wild, and a lot of papers can't handle the amount of ink that comes out of larger-tipped nibs.

Nothing wrong with EF nibs - they are my preference for everyday office use. My Kaweco Sport (have multiple in plastic and brass, steel and aluminium) have brilliant EF nibs, and also work as an EEF as a reverse-writer.

Thanks for another no-nonsense review. However, I have to take issue with your suggestion that the price is not out of line. With all the really good pocket pens on the market now, including many for substantially less, this one seems a bit pricey. Especially since the grooves in the section require special care to avoid inked fingertips. Further, since it appears the surface of the section is not slick in the least, I have to wonder if the grooves are even necessary.

Neat little pen! Definitely competitive with the other pocket pens. Only down side is the little converter, but I suppose that's the price for having a small pen. I think if I were spending my money, I'd opt for the Pilot E95S.

@theotherlinh2 жыл бұрын
@@RITPA yeah, I know. But I feel like offering only one option is still limiting. Not everyone is comfortable with a nib swap (depending on if it's just a simple screw off or not). Also, I don't want to have extra nibs around nor pay more.

I got the copper one for Christmas. I like the pen but its currently listed at $105 on amazon for a stock pen that takes mini converters and refills with a generic steel nib. I feel bad asking for it because the footprint of the pen as well as the materials should put this pen at 60 maybe 75, definitely not $105.

Well when it comes to nib only being available in ef, you have to look at the customer base the company is aiming at. And that is definitely not the fountain pen people. It is the EDC people that are often focused around pocket knives, guns and accessories. Actually the community I come from, where most people use nice rollerballs/gel pens, which is what this company mostly sells. And those people definitely do not want a thick line and they do not care about ink or how it looks better out of a wider nib.
