Nice thing about the Majahn T1 is it's pretty easy to swap out the nib with most other #6 size nibs. I have a Kaigelu long knife nib in mine, and it's pretty cool.

You’re right! I should try that. Thanks for watching.

That's a handsome looking pen!

It really is. I wish I had pointed out the three engraved lines towards the top of the cap. Nice touch. Thanks for watching!

I have two and spoke to both Monteverde/Yafa and Goulet Pens (where I purchased it from) and you *cannot* remove the piston. In fact, one of the two pens' piston seized on me when I was cleaning it and there's just no fix as far as I can tell (which was the reason for talking to both parties in the first place). Thankfully Goulet offered me a refund, but there seems to be kinks to be worked out on this pen right now. I've also found that I'm not the only person who experienced this; maybe it's rare for this to happen and in some time this pen will be an excellent competitor to Twsbi or Nahvalur, but I won't get another one soon.

I agree. Supposedly Monteverde is sending me a replacement body. I explained to them what causes the problem of ink getting behind the piston, so I’m hopeful they’ll address it with the MP2, if that ever sees the light of day. This was their first attempt at a piston-filler, and they tried to make something unique, so I suppose there is a learning curve. I won’t be getting another one unless that problem is addressed. Thanks for the info, and for watching!

I do like the look of the MP1 I have been thinking about snagging one for myself.

Please do! You’ll love it. Thanks for watching.

Are the nib and feed keyed? If I can I usually rotate the nib, so that the facets in such a grip actually line up correctly for me.
@pensane20 күн бұрын
Oh, thank you, Urban! I checked just now. It was worth a shot, but unfortunately, it is keyed. That would have been a life changer. Good to hear from you!

@@pensane Too bad, but it was worth a try.

can the nib be rotated? the twsbi clone wingsung 3008 allows you to rotate the nib.
@pensane18 күн бұрын
I was hoping it could, but it’s keyed. Now you have me curious about the 3008! Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the review. Do you know if you can remove the piston for maintenance?
@pensane16 күн бұрын
I made a half-hearted attempt to remove the piston, but gave up as I didn’t want to ruin the pen. I emailed Monteverde asking them about it, but haven’t heard back. I’ll be sure to do an update video when I find out. Being able to remove the piston on this pen is essential. Thank you for the question!

I did get an answer: no. BUT, I am going to be sharing my story of excellent customer service soon. I'll also be including advice to prevent (or limit) ink from getting behind the piston.

I agree! Hopefully, they come out with another version soon. I let them know what was causing the problem for me. I would love to see an MP2. Thanks for the comment.

Great review Gregory. I'd think I'll go with the Twsbi. The Majohn lacks a clip. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Thank you! Happy holidays to you, too. The TWSBI Eco is still one of my favorite pen models from any brand.
@santauxia20 күн бұрын
@@pensane I'm gonna gift me a Twsbi pretty soon LOL. Undecided between an Eco or a 580.
@pensane3 күн бұрын
You can't go wrong with either. I think I prefer the Eco, mostly due to the price. But if you want a pen that isn't quite so casual, I recommend the Diamond 580. The Diamond Mini is cool, too, if you like smaller pens.
