I'm about to finish my Camille Tee by Céline Feyten. It is middle for sure - there is absolutely finishing needed. No ribbing, nothing done to the neckline. The cuffs and hem are lace motifs worked separately and added on with a three needle bind off. I am SO HAPPY to have a break from doing a sewn bind off. Which sewn bind off tip I only learned a few months ago - you can double/quadruple up the yarn in the eye of the needle so you don't have obsurdly long tails to pull through. Total game changer.

For me, stitch markers are EVERYWHERE. I'm guaranteed to have one on me at all times because they have taken over and ended up in every bag, every pocket, all around my chairs that I sit in, just like strands of my hair and hairties 🤣 also I was so excited when you read my needle analysis🤣I'm working on a test which I feel like is oldest because sure I'll meticulously check this pattern for errors for you, but the pattern itself feels youngest or only because it's VERY unique and will stand out a lot with metal eyelets and a sort of horizontal corset with icord laces.

heeeeyyyyyy I'm knitting an Outline Tee. I'm a bit perplexed on what it would be, maybe youngest? because risky dropped stitch right at the end? I'm going with that

Ooh, I have two main WIPs. One is an ongoing project where I try a bunch off different afterthought heels and toe combos searching for my perfect vanilla sock. Even making up my own heels. Totally an oldest project. The second is a shawl that is half lace, and when you’re totally over lace switches to garter, and when you can’t handle that you bind off and have something that anyone would love - middles child energy.

loving the pod, as ever ! currently knitting on a fingering weight all-over colourwork cardigan that is knit in the round & then *steeked* - it is also a WIP that i cast on at least two years ago. So I feel like it’s giving only child (requires full attention of both parents - using two hands for colourwork) but also with a bit of middle child in there (frequently overlooked for other projects).

thanks for another fun pod ep + the generous giveaway! i'm currently knitting the "very kochi cardigan" by yoko johnston (an aran-weight, cabled, raglan cardi with some nice seed stitch details AND pockets! pockets with contrasting colors! knit kinda all in one piece-the construction is so genius and unique and very, very thorough) ..... all that being said, i would say this project has a v playful Youngest energy for sure, but with a touch of influence from a middle or oldest (bc, c'mon, that construction)

Yes! Breakfast for 24 hrs! You're my people! I'm currently working on a Musselburgh hat - it's going to be everyone's Christmas gift this year. I'm an oldest whose perfectionist tendencies can cause knitting paralysis - Mckenzie, you helped me start seaming up my Bare Branches cardigan at Starlight weeks ago - have I finished it yet? Hell no! I may be coming back to see you! ;-)

I’m pulling together yarn for yet another test because even though I have a mile long to-make list, I feel a ReSpOnSibiLiTy to help the designers I love and that is some serious oldest behavior. The pattern itself is creative and fun, color work plus texture, a quick knit, very youngest I think.

I loooove this podcast! You all are the best. I’m knitting a Hello From My Colors Crop and it’s my first time doing all over stranded colorwork and a lot of gauge math has been involved… I think it’s youngest because it’s bold and unapologetically colorful, it’s short sleeve inpatient, and I’m forcing it to be the size I want instead of following the rules 😅

I’m working on a So Basic Sweater. Big oldest energy: it’s fingering weight, using 9-inch circulars wherever possible, and is the second one I’m knitting for myself because I wanted to modify this version to have a folded half twisted rib collar. I'm knitting my 4000th pair (not really) of Hermione's Everyday Socks in John Arbon Exmoor Sock. I believe this pattern has Oldest energy because it's straightforward, easy to memorize (eldest teaches the younger siblings how to memorize by practicing times tables, nursery rhymes, music lyrics, etc.), looks good in any yarn (eldest always gets new clothes that fit them), and it's a free pattern (like how the eldest is always free labor for childcare). Also, even though Hermione is an only, she gives Oldest energy in groups. I think my reasoning is a clear argument for naming HEDS an Oldest pattern. 😊

So, I may be the only person watching who loves this podcast energy and yet misses entirely understanding birth order stereotypes. I just love watching you two chat and the quick decisions you make about what sibling energy you associate with things. I'm trying to crochet through my acrylic stash, making huge crocheted buckets to store all of the yarn I recently brought back from my mom's estate, I am re-organizing my studio, putting two kallex shelves together on wheels with a desk top to maximizes storge, but I didn't buy the the fabric cubes. I wanted to have a different vibe. Is that first born vibes? so extra?
