Though you have July ninth letter, this that you consider the final instruction of srila prabhupad from his bed (October) ... always seek devotee association,.....if we have the chance of devotee association.what is the meaning of having chance of devotee association because it is very very rare. Pure devotee association is very very rare n this pure devotee association is the only solution to all the problems for both parties. No sastra, no acharya including srila prabhupad can say no need of pure devotee association. I can agree n accept both parties provided l have pure devotee association. None of us will have an or a problem if the 100 or so gurus of iskcon openly confess to the aspiring devotee who wants to take diksha that 1) I have disregarded prabhupad’s “ final order letter dated 9/7/1977 2) I have also disregarded prabhupad’s will . His Will states that the gbc has no authority to make me a guru . But I am still one of the gurus of iskcon. Let the aspiring devotee then decide if he wants the initiation or not .

*Prabhupada's Directions on Who can Initiate after his Disappearance.* - The GBC meet on 28 May and the 9th July letter both talk about 'Officiating acharyas'. Srila Prabhupada himself during the 28 May meet said : "Because *in my presence* one should not become guru" and then he nominated Ritviks or officiating acharyas. Important point to learn from this is that one can become a Guru only on absence or disappearance of his Guru and Prabhupada mentioned this etiquette many others times too. But now to understand, *What Prabhupada wanted on his absence or disappearance, his directions are listed as under.* - Letter to - Hamsaduta- Los Angeles 3 January, 1969: *All of my disciples will be allowed to initiate* and increase the numbers of the *generations.* - Letter to John Milner - Bombay 24 March, 1971: So far as your taking initiation from Brahmananda Maharaja, *I have no objection* , but in presence of his Spiritual Master is not the etiquette. - Letter to Acyutananda written from Honolulu, May 16, 1972: Sometime ago you asked my permission for accepting disciples, now the time is approaching very soon when *you will have many disciples.* - Letter to Tusta Krsna, New Delhi 2 December, 1975: +Take your training and then *you can accept disciples.* + In *disappearance of spiritual master you can accept disciples* , without any limitation. + Every student should become acharya and then train *his disciples.* - Room Conversation July 18, 1971, Detroit : Whoever is initiated, he is competent to *make disciples.* - Conversation May 30, 1976, Honolulu: *Every one of you should become Guru.* I'm training you for that but *don't do it in presence of your Guru.* -Letter to Kirtanananda, Los Angeles 25 January, 1969: It is just like I have got my disciples, so in the future *these many disciples may have many branches of disciplic succession.* -Letter to Krsna Devi, Tittenhurst 2 November, 1969: *Anyone who is qualified can initiate disciples.* -Lecture on S B 7-9-28 - Mayapur, March 6, 1976: Follow this literature strictly, then *you'll be able to make disciples* all over the world. The final instruction was given in 1977 may 28 conversation and july 9th letter.. before Srila Prabhupad wanted his disciples become initiating acharyas but later when he realised that noone is qualified to become initiating acharyas or the Diksha Guru He instructed to follow the ritwik system. Pls try to understand. This is simple.. Don't mention what Prabhupada was saying before 1977. U only concentrate on what He instructed before His physical departure.. but u people unnecessarily trying to put the previous orders which are insignificant than the final instructions.. read the july 9th letter.. Thanks mate for your support. Srila Prabhupada was a pakhandi and thats why all his disciples are also pakhandis. The disciples of a pakhandi guru can only be pakhandi themselves. Prabhupada was actually Hagupada, as he blasphemed against Lord Siva, Durga, Ganesa, Visnu by calling them demigods and inferior to Krishna. Thats why we real sanatanis are trying to destroy ISKCON started by evil Prabhupada. If we make people lose trust on the Hagupada's foolish disciples, then people will also lose faith on Hagupada / Prabhupada and his Hare Krishna movement will be destroyed. Ritvik philosophy is very dangerous, it is the death of the sampradaya, it is the death of the line. There is no life there. In fact, this ritvik acarya idea is dead conception. Where is the life? Life means I must become pure, I must surrender. I must embrace the life of unalloyed devotion and I must preach. But what are the ritvik acaryas doing, they are pointing to the so called disqualification of others. They say no one is qualified to hold the post of guru. They see only disqualification in everyone. They are like Duryodhana but we should not be like him, we should try to see like Yudhisthira. There was a story. One day Lord Krsna met with Duryodhana and Yudhisthira. Krsna asked Duryodhana to go into the kingdom and bring back a person more qualified than himself. Then Duryodhana went out. Krsna then requested Yudhisthira also to go into the kingdom and to find a person less qualified than himself. Yudhisthira Maharaja was also highly qualified in all the military sciences and more. Then Yudhisthira went out. After some time both men returned alone, empty handed. Krsna then inquired from each why they had returned alone. Duryodhana said, I could not find anyone more qualified than myself. And Yudhisthira said, I could not find anyone less qualified than myself. You see? Those with the ritvik mentality are like Duryodhana. They do not and cannot see the good qualities of others. In this way what they want to say is that they alone are qualified, at least to judge the qualifications of other. This kind of thinking is avaisnava and it is against the devotional line. Another argument is this: the ritvik acaryas are saying that no one is qualified, but they have not seen everyone, so how do they know for sure? It is the same old story. A man says that he has not seen anyone who has seen God, therefore he says that no one has seen God. But how does he know? He has not met everyone and inquired, “Have you seen God?” “No.” And if he met someone who said that he had seen God, would he believe him? Probably not. Consider this point also: Srila Prabhupada had at least five thousand disciples, and many of them are still carrying on Krsna consciousness even to this day. Now you want to say that none of them have become qualified, none of them have become Krsna conscious, none of them are qualified. So if that is true, then why on earth would you want to become a disciple of Srila Prabhupada? After all, not even one of his disciples became qualified- even after following the process for almost thirty years, according to Ritvik logic. Then what will be the use of your following that process? Certainly it will be defective. If one is a professor but none of the professor’s students have qualified to pass the examination then why would I want to enroll as one of his students? I would do much better for myself to find a professor who has got some qualified students. Then at least I might have a chance to qualify myself. Those who are preaching the ritvik conception are actually doing great harm to Srila Prabhupada’s movement. This ritvik idea is dangerous, it simply leads to the grave, it has no life. But how can we know for sure if a Godbrother is a qualified paramahamsa or not? First you surrender. Become the pure devotee of Krsna and your spiritual master then you will know who is who. It takes one to know one. So they say there is no one qualified, but I say that I have met so many qualified personalities. For example, if I ask you was Srila Prabhupada a pure devotee? Everyone will say yes. But what is your proof? What is your proof that he was a pure devotee? Prove it. Here is an answer from one Godbrother: Well, Srila Prabhupada came to America alone, spread the movement, preached to the public, published many books on the topic of Krsna consciousness. Then here is my reply: Yes, Srila Prabhupada did that and much, much more but that is all external. Do you mean to say that if an old man simply comes to America and publishes some books on Krsna then we should consider him a paramahamsa? No. Then what is the actual proof? Prove it. The Godbrother say, I have my faith and I know it in my heart that Srila Prabhupada is a pure devotee. And then myself speaking: Yes. That is your proof. That is your only proof.

Ritvik philosophy is very dangerous, it is the death of the sampradaya, it is the death of the line. There is no life there. In fact, this ritvik acarya idea is dead conception. Where is the life? Life means I must become pure, I must surrender. I must embrace the life of unalloyed devotion and I must preach. But what are the ritvik acaryas doing, they are pointing to the so called disqualification of others. They say no one is qualified to hold the post of guru. They see only disqualification in everyone. They are like Duryodhana but we should not be like him, we should try to see like Yudhisthira. There was a story. One day Lord Krsna met with Duryodhana and Yudhisthira. Krsna asked Duryodhana to go into the kingdom and bring back a person more qualified than himself. Then Duryodhana went out. Krsna then requested Yudhisthira also to go into the kingdom and to find a person less qualified than himself. Yudhisthira Maharaja was also highly qualified in all the military sciences and more. Then Yudhisthira went out. After some time both men returned alone, empty handed. Krsna then inquired from each why they had returned alone. Duryodhana said, I could not find anyone more qualified than myself. And Yudhisthira said, I could not find anyone less qualified than myself. You see? Those with the ritvik mentality are like Duryodhana. They do not and cannot see the good qualities of others. In this way what they want to say is that they alone are qualified, at least to judge the qualifications of other. This kind of thinking is avaisnava and it is against the devotional line. Another argument is this: the ritvik acaryas are saying that no one is qualified, but they have not seen everyone, so how do they know for sure? It is the same old story. A man says that he has not seen anyone who has seen God, therefore he says that no one has seen God. But how does he know? He has not met everyone and inquired, “Have you seen God?” “No.” And if he met someone who said that he had seen God, would he believe him? Probably not. Consider this point also: Srila Prabhupada had at least five thousand disciples, and many of them are still carrying on Krsna consciousness even to this day. Now you want to say that none of them have become qualified, none of them have become Krsna conscious, none of them are qualified. So if that is true, then why on earth would you want to become a disciple of Srila Prabhupada? After all, not even one of his disciples became qualified- even after following the process for almost thirty years, according to Ritvik logic. Then what will be the use of your following that process? Certainly it will be defective. If one is a professor but none of the professor’s students have qualified to pass the examination then why would I want to enroll as one of his students? I would do much better for myself to find a professor who has got some qualified students. Then at least I might have a chance to qualify myself. Those who are preaching the ritvik conception are actually doing great harm to Srila Prabhupada’s movement. This ritvik idea is dangerous, it simply leads to the grave, it has no life. But how can we know for sure if a Godbrother is a qualified paramahamsa or not? First you surrender. Become the pure devotee of Krsna and your spiritual master then you will know who is who. It takes one to know one. So they say there is no one qualified, but I say that I have met so many qualified personalities. For example, if I ask you was Srila Prabhupada a pure devotee? Everyone will say yes. But what is your proof? What is your proof that he was a pure devotee? Prove it. Here is an answer from one Godbrother: Well, Srila Prabhupada came to America alone, spread the movement, preached to the public, published many books on the topic of Krsna consciousness. Then here is my reply: Yes, Srila Prabhupada did that and much, much more but that is all external. Do you mean to say that if an old man simply comes to America and publishes some books on Krsna then we should consider him a paramahamsa? No. Then what is the actual proof? Prove it. The Godbrother say, I have my faith and I know it in my heart that Srila Prabhupada is a pure devotee. And then myself speaking: Yes. That is your proof. That is your only proof.

According to him none of Prabhupada's disciple is a pure devotee and fit to be a diksha guru. As per SB and Gita, a pure devotee can make many other pure devotees as well, but since as according to him Prabhupada was not able to do it, so prabhupada himself was not a pure devotee. Prabhupada himself gave many of his disciples the position of initiation guru while he was present and few may have fallen away, but many like Gopal krishna goswami maharaj, Radha Govind Maharaj, Radhanath Maharaj, jayapataka Maharaj, indruymna swami maharaja, siva ram Maharaj, Chandra mauli Maharaj, jay advaita Maharaj etc….are still here and their service to hare krishna movement is inconceivable for us. Prabhupada never gave instructions that after him none of his disciples can become initiating gurus. I have met many times many ISKCON gurus and hear their classes and I regularly associate with their wonderful disciples (both brahmacharis and grihasthas) as well. Hence I know ritviks are just envious creatures and are full of arrogance, but they cannot be called devotees ! He is just badly harming the Hare Krishna movement.

He is doing Vaisnava Aparadha against Srila Prabhupada. As per him, Srila Prabhupada was not qualified to even make one pure devotee who could be a diksha guru. As per SB and Gita, a pure devotee can make many other pure devotees as well, but since as according to you Prabhupada was not able to do it, so prabhupada himself was not a pure devotee. Many disciples of Prabhupada like Late Gopal krishna goswami maharaj, Radhanath Maharaj, jayapataka Maharaj, Radha Govinda Swami Maharaj, indruymna swami maharaja, siva ram Maharaj, Chandra mauli Maharaj, jay advaita Maharaj etc….are still there. Prabhupada never gave instructions that after him none of his disciples can become initiating gurus. I have met many times many ISKCON gurus and hear their classes and I regularly associate with their wonderful brahmachari and grihastha disciples as well. Hence I know ritviks are just envious creatures and are full of arrogance, but they cannot be called devotees ! He is just badly harming the Hare Krishna movement.

The evidences made here in support of ritvik system are quite wrongly presented to confuse the people by telling HALF truth. I cant go through all evidences but i woukd like you to read FULL letter of Tamal Krishna maharaj of 03 Dec 1980. It is given in description box of this video only. I am pasting it also here. TAMAL KRISHNA MAHARAJA'S; Pyramid house confessions, December 3rd 1980Share.. Monday, April 19, 2010 at 11:15pm PYRAMID HOUSE CONFESSIONS December 3rd 1980 Tamala Krishna Maharaja: "I've had a certain realization a few days ago.(...) There are obviously so many statements by Srila Prabhupada that his Guru Maharaja did not appoint any successors.(...) Even in Srila Prabhupada's books he says guru means by qualification.(...) The inspiration came because there was a questioning on my part, so Krishna spoke. Actually Prabhupada never appointed any gurus. He appointed eleven ritviks. He never appointed them gurus. Myself and the other GBC have done the greatest disservice to this movement the last three years because we interpreted the appointment of ritviks as the appointment of gurus. What actually happened I'll explain. I explained it but the interpretation is wrong. What actually happened was that Prabhupada mentioned he might be appointing some ritviks, so the GBC met for various reasons, and they went to Prabhupada, five or six of us. (This refers to the meeting of May 1977,). We asked him, "Srila Prabhupada, after your departure, if we accept disciples, whose disciples will they be, your disciples or mine?" Later on there was a piled up list of people to get initiated, and it was jammed up. I said, "Srila Prabhupada, you once mentioned about ritviks. I don't know what to do. We don't want to approach you, but there's hundreds of devotees named, and I'm just holding all the letters. I don't know what you want to do". Srila Prabhupada said, "All right, I will appoint so many..." and he started to name them. He made it very clear that they are his disciples. At that point it was very clear in my mind that they were his disciples. Later on I asked him two questions, one: "What about Brahmananda Swami?". I asked him this because I happened to have an affection for Brahmananda Swami.(...) So Srila Prabhupada said, "No, not unless he is qualified". Before I got ready to type the letter, I asked him, two: "Srila Prabhupada is this all or do you want to add more?". He said, "As is necessary, others may be added." Now I understand that what he did was very clear. He was physically incapable of performing the function of initiation; therefore he appointed officiating priests to initiate on his behalf. He appointed eleven, and he said very clearly, "Whoever is nearest can initiate". This is very important because when it comes to initiating, it isn't whoever is nearest, it's wherever your heart goes. Who (you) repose your faith on, you take initiation from him. But when it's officiating, it's whoever is nearest, and he was very clear. He named them. They were spread out all over the world, and he said, "Whoever your nearest, you just approach that person, and they'll check you out. Then, on my behalf, they'll initiate." It is not a question that you repose your faith in that person - nothing. That's a function for the guru. "In order for me to manage this movement", Prabhupada said, "I have to form a GBC and I will appoint the following people. In order to continue the process of people joining our movement and getting initiated, I have to appoint some priests to help me because(...) I cannot physically manage everyone myself." And That's all it was, and it was never any more than that, you can bet your bottom dollar that Prabhupada would have spoken for days and hours and weeks on end about how to set up this thing with the gurus, because he had already said it a million times. He said: My Guru Maharaja did not appoint anyone. It's by qualification." We made a great mistake. After Prabhupada's departure what is the position of these eleven people?(...) Prabhupada showed that it is not just sannyasis. He named two people who were grihastas, who could at least be ritviks, showing that they were equal to any sannyasi. So anyone who is spiritually qualified - it's always been understood that you cannot accept disciples in the presence of your guru, but when the guru disappears, you can accept disciples if you are qualified and someone can repose their faith. Of course, they (prospective disciples) should be fully appraised at how to distinguish who is a proper guru. But if you are a proper guru, and your guru is no longer present, that is your right. It's like a man can procreate(...) Unfortunately the GBC did not recognise this point. They immediately (assumed, decided) that these eleven people are the selected gurus. I can definitely say for myself, and for which I humbly beg forgiveness from everybody, that there was definitely some degree of trying to control(...) This is the conditioned nature, and it came out in the highest position of all, "Guru, oh wonderful! Now I am guru, and there is only eleven of us"(...). I feel that this realization or this understanding is essential if we are to avoid further things from happening, because, believe me, it's going to repeat. It's just a question of time until things have a little bit faded out and again another incident is going to happen, whether it's here in L.A. or somewhere else. It's going to continuously happen until you allow the actual spiritual force of Krishna to be exhibited without restriction.(...) I feel that the GBC body, if they don't adopt this point very quickly, if they don't realize this truth. You cannot show me anything on tape or in writing where Prabhupada says: "I appoint these eleven as gurus". It does not exist because he never appointed any gurus. This is a myth.(...) The day you got initiated you get the right to be come a father when your father disappears, if you are qualified. No appointment. It doesn't require an appointment, because there isn't one. END OF LETTER Plz read the last 4 paragraphs atleast 2-3 times, and specially the third last paragraph, then you will get full understanding of this letter's true message. As far as my understanding goes, this letter is clearly telling that the 11 persons appointed were ritviks and not proper diksha gurus which vrindavanchandra pr emphasizes and i also agree. But it doesnt means that ritvik system will be followed in all future to come. The confession by tamal krishna maharaja is: "The diksha gurus should have been made on the basis of purity, but what was our mistake is that we made them on the basis of these 11 names". If we understand this letter in this light, then u will find that you all automatically get the answer to all confusions which have been very cunningly presneted in this video. Hare Krishna, Can you please get me answers of below two questions? • How HG Vrindavan Chandra Prabhuji acquired the authority to act as a Ritvik? and who authorized him to do so? • After appointing the initial 11 Ritviks, how Ritviks will be selected in future? and who is eligible to fulfill that role? Where are Srila Prabhupada's instructions on this matter? If we don't get really convincing answers to these questions, how can we expect people to believe in Ritvik? The Guru-Parampara is supposed to be a never-ending process, but Prabhupada ended it without clearly explaining how Ritvik should work in the future. Even kids would find this reasoning hard to accept. Meanwhile, my understanding of Srila Prabhupada is that he wouldn't do anything that goes against his Spiritual Master, and below is a quote from Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Maharaj. This should be enough to open your eyes unless your perspective is completely covered by self-created illusions. "The line of guru-parampara is existing up to today without any break and it will continue to exist like this in the future also. To say, there is no bonafide guru living in the world at present and neither will there be any in the future, 'is an atheistic opinion'." ~Srila Bhaktisiddhant saraswati thakur Prabhupada in his essay "True conception of Shrī Guru tattava".

The evidences made here in support of ritvik system are quite wrongly presented to confuse the people by telling HALF truth. I cant go through all evidences but i woukd like you to read FULL letter of Tamal Krishna maharaj of 03 Dec 1980. It is given in description box of this video only. I am pasting it also here. Monday, April 19, 2010 at 11:15pm PYRAMID HOUSE CONFESSIONS December 3rd 1980 Tamala Krishna Maharaja: "I've had a certain realization a few days ago.(...) There are obviously so many statements by Srila Prabhupada that his Guru Maharaja did not appoint any successors.(...) Even in Srila Prabhupada's books he says guru means by qualification.(...) The inspiration came because there was a questioning on my part, so Krishna spoke. Actually Prabhupada never appointed any gurus. He appointed eleven ritviks. He never appointed them gurus. Myself and the other GBC have done the greatest disservice to this movement the last three years because we interpreted the appointment of ritviks as the appointment of gurus. What actually happened I'll explain. I explained it but the interpretation is wrong. What actually happened was that Prabhupada mentioned he might be appointing some ritviks, so the GBC met for various reasons, and they went to Prabhupada, five or six of us. (This refers to the meeting of May 1977,). We asked him, "Srila Prabhupada, after your departure, if we accept disciples, whose disciples will they be, your disciples or mine?" Later on there was a piled up list of people to get initiated, and it was jammed up. I said, "Srila Prabhupada, you once mentioned about ritviks. I don't know what to do. We don't want to approach you, but there's hundreds of devotees named, and I'm just holding all the letters. I don't know what you want to do". Srila Prabhupada said, "All right, I will appoint so many..." and he started to name them. He made it very clear that they are his disciples. At that point it was very clear in my mind that they were his disciples. Later on I asked him two questions, one: "What about Brahmananda Swami?". I asked him this because I happened to have an affection for Brahmananda Swami.(...) So Srila Prabhupada said, "No, not unless he is qualified". Before I got ready to type the letter, I asked him, two: "Srila Prabhupada is this all or do you want to add more?". He said, "As is necessary, others may be added." Now I understand that what he did was very clear. He was physically incapable of performing the function of initiation; therefore he appointed officiating priests to initiate on his behalf. He appointed eleven, and he said very clearly, "Whoever is nearest can initiate". This is very important because when it comes to initiating, it isn't whoever is nearest, it's wherever your heart goes. Who (you) repose your faith on, you take initiation from him. But when it's officiating, it's whoever is nearest, and he was very clear. He named them. They were spread out all over the world, and he said, "Whoever your nearest, you just approach that person, and they'll check you out. Then, on my behalf, they'll initiate." It is not a question that you repose your faith in that person - nothing. That's a function for the guru. "In order for me to manage this movement", Prabhupada said, "I have to form a GBC and I will appoint the following people. In order to continue the process of people joining our movement and getting initiated, I have to appoint some priests to help me because(...) I cannot physically manage everyone myself." And That's all it was, and it was never any more than that, you can bet your bottom dollar that Prabhupada would have spoken for days and hours and weeks on end about how to set up this thing with the gurus, because he had already said it a million times. He said: My Guru Maharaja did not appoint anyone. It's by qualification." We made a great mistake. After Prabhupada's departure what is the position of these eleven people?(...) Prabhupada showed that it is not just sannyasis. He named two people who were grihastas, who could at least be ritviks, showing that they were equal to any sannyasi. So anyone who is spiritually qualified - it's always been understood that you cannot accept disciples in the presence of your guru, but when the guru disappears, you can accept disciples if you are qualified and someone can repose their faith. Of course, they (prospective disciples) should be fully appraised at how to distinguish who is a proper guru. But if you are a proper guru, and your guru is no longer present, that is your right. It's like a man can procreate(...) Unfortunately the GBC did not recognise this point. They immediately (assumed, decided) that these eleven people are the selected gurus. I can definitely say for myself, and for which I humbly beg forgiveness from everybody, that there was definitely some degree of trying to control(...) This is the conditioned nature, and it came out in the highest position of all, "Guru, oh wonderful! Now I am guru, and there is only eleven of us"(...). I feel that this realization or this understanding is essential if we are to avoid further things from happening, because, believe me, it's going to repeat. It's just a question of time until things have a little bit faded out and again another incident is going to happen, whether it's here in L.A. or somewhere else. It's going to continuously happen until you allow the actual spiritual force of Krishna to be exhibited without restriction.(...) I feel that the GBC body, if they don't adopt this point very quickly, if they don't realize this truth. You cannot show me anything on tape or in writing where Prabhupada says: "I appoint these eleven as gurus". It does not exist because he never appointed any gurus. This is a myth.(...) The day you got initiated you get the right to be come a father when your father disappears, if you are qualified. No appointment. It doesn't require an appointment, because there isn't one. END OF LETTER Plz read the last 4 paragraphs atleast 2-3 times, and specially the third last paragraph, then you will get full understanding of this letter's true message. As far as my understanding goes, this letter is clearly telling that the 11 persons appointed were ritviks and not proper diksha gurus which vrindavanchandra pr emphasizes and i also agree. But it doesnt means that ritvik system will be followed in all future to come. The confession by tamal krishna maharaja is: "The diksha gurus should have been made on the basis of purity, but what was our mistake is that we made them on the basis of these 11 names". If we understand this letter in this light, then u will find that you all automatically get the answer to all confusions which have been very cunningly presneted in this video. RITVIK SYSTEM is never after Guru's departure. HARE KRISHNA
