I can't stop smiling from the many memories i had with this show. Sao had been the actual first official anime I have watched. Besides Pokemon. I loved it's story, characters and especially the song from the first part of it's season. It's always going to be my most nostalgic, favorite, and best anime I have seen. I was aware of SAO's "reputation" before I started watching (I started watching like 2 days before I commented this) but I was still interested. Let's just say I definitely enjoyed it. While I prefer the first half of SAO when they're actually in SAO I definitely enjoyed the whole thing. As of now I have just started watching GGO so I'll update this. The show has flaws but I actually kinda like it. It's no Death Note or MHA or JoJo but it's definitely, in my opinion, a contender for my favourite anime list (yes really). Crossing Field is why I love the first half of SAO and this cover is great too. So glad I found this. This and Jonathan Young's cover are great. 👍🏻 Ok so I enjoyed GGO. Wasn't perfect but I wasn't disappointed. Now on to SAO 2

Most of the hate stems from a number of things. The most common complaints are of A. Yui B. The Plot Holes in the first arc C. Suguha being in love with her cousin/brother so you know, incest. D. The Sexual Assault scenes that basically every season has. E. The Gun Gale Arc.

A sexual assault scene on its own could hold some significance, to show that people who go through that aren't disgusting and can get help to recover. Just wanna clarify, not trying to start an argument. Just wanted to state my opinion.

@@robynvera8969 to be fair, I didn't get that impression from the time it happened in the gun gale arc and it did lead to an interesting character development for Sinon in alicization. Most people in her position would want their assaulter locked up forever or dead. But in Sinon's case, the assaulter was her friend. And more than that, he's the one that got her into ggo and started her path towards rehabilitating her fear of guns. Plus she knows that Kyoji was under immense psychological pressure due to his low grades and from his parents to succeed the family business. And once death gun's identity is revealed she's then able to deduce that he was being subtly manipulated by his brother. So kyoji wasn't even mentally stable when he assaulted her. And so at the very first episode of Alicization, she says that she hopes he can get the mental care that he needs so that he might one day become a functioning member of society. This is a level of maturity that is often unheard of especially for people in her age group. Now onto the one in Alicization, I think Reki learned his lesson from the last 2 attempts and it's actually executed a lot better. Instead of happening at the climax, it's in the middle and actually advances the plot. Plus there is sufficient build up in prior episodes as well as the episode itself. And this instance was a lot more intense as a result of that build up. Plus it doesn't just end with the rapists being butchered and everything going back to normal. There are realistic consequences dulled out to Kirito and Eugeo for the way they handled the situation. Their actions lead to their arrest. That episode is one of the few times I think a warning was given that was actually warranted.
