Even when they speak out, as Chester did, others often don't know what to do and how they can help. Also, people rarely think the depressed person will kill himself or herself. This song physically hurts to listen to now. I still love it, but, it breaks what little bit of heart I have every damned time. May peace find you and hold you tight through your darkest days. Please talk to someone, anyone, if it helps you fight through your pain and stay in this world.

@@anonymousjeffry1864 The thing is, if you love them, and they love you back, they already know that you're hurting and they want you to talk to them. And if you can't talk to them for whatever reason they want you to talk to whoever you can. So that you can stay with them, because the world without your light in it is a dark place for them. I've lived with suicidal thoughts since I was eight. That's the first time I remember thinking the world would be a much better place if I wasn't in it. That's 31 years of self hatred. I know how hard it can be to get up and face the daylight. How painful living can be some days. I keep fighting for one more sunrise, one more sunset. Because I know how devastated my family would be if I gave up. I'm trying to get help finally.

A song so deep, this song tells the story of a person who is constantly depressed. (Of course you know what depression is) In the lyrics of this song, the writer (Chester Bennington) tries to explain that he has to struggle with himself, and fight himself because of the depression he is experiencing. Because he was so tired and hopeless of it all that he wanted to give up.
