I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS FRAGRANCE! I honestly think that Givenchy let the Serge Lutens Chergui hype die down and created a clone of it and added the best parts of D&G The One EDP. This scent profile has been out for a while so it's not ground breaking but it brings me back to a moment in time. In 2013 the youtube fragrance community was in its infancy and Chergui and The One were being hyped to no end. Naturally 18yr old me bought both and took them to Morocco with me. Gentleman RP reminds me of that amazing trip. How does it smell? Beautiful. Exotic. Imagine walking into the finest humidor in Morocco holding an open jar of honey, except this humidor has been emptied of all tobacco and filled with cups of whiskey and rum. In the room the humidor is in, the fireplace is burning with fine Moroccan wood, chestnuts, and hay. Through an open window off in the distance you catch whiffs of fresh cinnamon/amber incense blowing in from the Moroccan Bazaar, carried on the hot desert winds. I would suggest anyone to pick up a bottle of Chergui, especially since you can get it for about $80 nowadays

Damn! I'm Moroccan, and the way you describe the scent and the whole trip/olfactive experience is almost religious and mystic. I'm thinking of taking this Givenchy along with Tom Ford Black Orchid and Bvlgari Man in black. I just try to mourn and compensate the discontinuation of my favorite fragrance: Armani Eau de nuit, a mysterious, luxurious, seductive, dark and sensual nectar. Cheers from Casablanca.

I was happy to see your reaction because I for the first time got to smell EDT Intense, Boisee and this new one. All of them blew me away in comparison to everything else I had tried at Macys. Tried the new 1 Million Elixir, Phantom, Victory, YSL Y Parfum, etc. These 3 from the gentleman line destroys them all. They smell so high quality in comparison it’s no contest and the compositions of each were more pleasing and unique as well.

The whiskey and chestnut is in the dry down. The secret to this fragrance is in the dry down, very much like women's Chanel No.5, but better. I personally don't like the Chestnut, but everything else is lovely. I thought that it also had tobacco leaf as well? All I can say is that the dry down is where it's at. I pair the Reserve on inner sprays, and the Boisee on outer sprays. Mixing them is amazing. Projection on me lasts about 2 days. It is VERY nice for both smokers as well as folks who smell. . . musky. It's sexiest when paired with your natural musk, as it turns soapy anc clean (just like Women's Chanel No. 5) Source: I work in Macy's fragrance for men and women.

Yours assment is spot on. I tried both by samples first and then purchased the preve version. It just has that tiny extra something that put it over the top for my first givinchy purchase and its definitely a keeper for me. Definitely recommend trying some flanker samples of anything when buying first time from a particular line. They are actually all good but it was a matter of which one was better. Nice to know from various reviews to see that the ladys like it as well so that is a definite plus. Thanks for the good review 👍

Love the Givenchy gentleman line but this one smell's very same like Dior homme intense or Valentino uomo intense. The irises are heavy a bit smokey in these 3. Imo if you have Dior homme intense or Valentino uomo intense this one is a waste of your money. But if you are a collector then go for it. And what I have heard is that Valentino uomo intense is discontinued. Love the bottle color tho. I was expecting more of this Givenchy. A bit more boozy but you can hardly smell it. A great review Michella. Keep them coming. When will you bring out an fragrance? A Collab with a fragrance house. Think it would be a great surprise. And yes I am a very big fan of this line too. People sleeping on this line. Givenchy line smell's really good. Try reviewing: 1240 eau du parfum and lalique white in black.

I just got a sample for this today hated at first sniff and then i got the sample bottle made and the whole day i could just smell it where ever i got it on my fingers and samples leaked a little in my car so it smells like it so i can say it project heavily and its a strong scent perfume so be careful now it kind of grew on me after smelling it for a day will i buy the bottle don’t know yet

Sounds like a nice flanker. At least this time they created a bottle that can be recognized. Whenever I pick up one of my Givenchy Gentleman bottles, I have to hold the bottom under a light to see which one it is. I'd still prefer if it they wrote the name of the flanker on the bottle.

My theory is that the bergamot and amber are toning it down. I don't get them either and most don't on Fragrentica apparently, but the notes are there toning it down. Great fragrence though. It is sooo strong on my skin though. No more than three sprays for sure.

So i just purchased this bad boy. Hoping it would have a somewhat chocolate smell. And wow... Guys with this perfume being relatively new, this scent is an absolute sex perfume that 95% of men won't ever buy as they probably only stick to the classics. Take the risk and get this. Your girlfriend , date will fall in love you if you combine this with your best clothes. It has an insanely seductive and delicious smell. The performance it might not be dior savage but it does not have to be. In the first few hours it projects and will be there. It lasts me as long as i needed it. I recommend 2 writs, 2 neck , 1 back neck (close or on hair) , 2 front of shirt. That will have this perfume kicking for the 7-8hours after that its skin scent. This perfume to the average joe is insanely good. This is my new replacement for hot date nights replacing tom fords completly.
