Thank you orbsurfer for your wonderful review. I am looking for a larger quality top case and need to order online so watching reviews is the only way to get a good look at the product. A very unique way of testing it's waterproof ability :) I will make a purchase now thanks to your review!

When they say water proof I'm fairly certain they mean the box will not leak from the outside in, keeping the contents dry.😂

Looks very similar to OEM top box. Wonder if OEM lock set fits this case.

Hello. I enjoy your work. I am on a waiting list for a Tenere. I'm getting the items that I want to add when it arrives. I would like to add the Givi Trekker Outback 42. My Tenere will have a OEM Yamaha rear rack. I'm confused if I can run the two together...and if I need a special mounting plate. Could you help me? Thank you. David

Would this mount directly onto the GIVI 5137FZ rack?
@orbsurfer81952 жыл бұрын
If the 5137FZ rack has the two mushroom + the wedge connections, the case should fit.

Can you fit a kriega side bags with this setup?
@hyperpeaking3 жыл бұрын
The Kriega OS-BASE with smaller bags should work fine. The larger Kriega Pannier X-Frames with the larger bags requires some modifications to the racks, both the Yamaha rear rack and the Kriega racks.

What model of givi rack you use?
@orbsurfer81953 жыл бұрын
The top rack is the original Yamaha rear rack. The Givi rack for the Givi Alaska side cases is model number: PLO2145MK.

Hey, Just wondering if you think a Arai XD4 helmet would fit in the box? Thanks Cian
@orbsurfer81953 жыл бұрын
The Arai XD4 helmet fits in the box with room to spare. I have used the box for this purpose many times with that exact helmet.

@@orbsurfer8195 so a peaked helmet will fit?
@orbsurfer81953 жыл бұрын
@@MagicAyrtonforever Yes, the Arai XD4/Tour-X4 is a peaked helmet, and that helmet fits fine in the top box, with extra space.

GIVI strongly not recommended. I bought GIVI blade B37 top box 2 months ago and have been facing numerous quality related issues. Contacted GIVI Italy/ India and they refused to even look into the problems seriously and displayed care a damn attitude towards these short falls. After my personal experience, GIVI made me believe that they are an overrated, unprofessional and arrogant company to patronise with. 1. The base plate rubbers are made of material which tends to stick to the top box. Due to this this, every-time I remove the top box, the rubbers sticks to the box and come off. The first time this happened, I lost those rubbers on a highway and then, had to go and look for them in the middle of the night. If you lose these mounting rubbers, your top box will rattle crazily and will that will eventually damage the base plate/ box. 2. The top box cover hinge has a play and due to this, the cover continuously rattles. 3. The packing rubber inside the box and the cover not fitting well. Shouldn’t that be the case, the point 2 above may not happen. 4. The push bottom of the box cover is not very smooth. I have to press really hard to push open the cover. This is dangerous, as the bike may come off the side stand and fall due to this push. I have to be very watchful and have to keep a hand behind the box while opening it. Shared all the concerns and videos with GIVI and I was quite flabbergasted by their response and reaction. They strongly made me believe now that their customer service/ satisfaction is Rock bottom. Highly overrated brand and I am in process of making a full review video of this box and posting it on KZbin shortly. Once done, will share the link here too: 👍 After using this box for 5000 odd kms, which is a mix of city, highway and off road drives, I feel one should opt for a much stable, stronger and permanently mounted top box like orange candy, Motocan, etc, as GIVI seems to be more super bikes and highway centric design and not made for an adventure bike like Himalayan, which is made to withstand constant vibrations/ beatings. After the above mentioned experience and shelling INR 1,3000/-, I felt deceived and humiliated by such an awefull experience.
