I'm proud to be a Sri lankan.We go to anuradapura ones a year .Ancient mahaviharaya located there.thousands of arahants lived there.They wrote explanations to dhamma called "atuwa".Anuradapura era was the golden era in our history As buddhists we are one family

The more you give from your heart the more you get.You don't need money to give. Showing kindness to others is also giving.You must give without expecting anything in return the happiness that you experience within yourself cannot be explained.

@caessarion Only they are 500 years apart. The bodhi tree still exists. But you have a point.The point in Buddhism isn't really the stories, but rather how to live.

I don't Know about Maitreya Buddha.(but I have heard) I don't want to Know who will become Maitreya Buddha.Why we believe that.For what?I know ,there is a suffer in the world and there is a way to get rid from it. Human life is very rare .Buddha always told this word"Appamado" means never be late.We have correct path and healthy eyes,then why we behave as a blind?thank u for reply!

I don't like talk about this anymore.but let me explain.first thing is Maitreya Buddha hasn't arise yet,So how can we talk about his teachings?It doesn't make any sense. But if arise Maitreya Buddha someday ,his teachings will be 100% same as teachings of Gautama Buddha.So we should follow pure Theravada now,if we really want to get rid from painful suffer.If talking about Saudi Arabia (Islamic countries) They controlled by strict rules (fear),Not true discipline.--cont.

u can see how those people behave If there is no such rules.I knw the beginning of Islam.Blood and tears.Be follower or die.They have no freedom to think and other religions are not allowed there.May be u know what happened to Buddha's monuments of India(Nalanda university..etc).I don't hate them at all.but I have sad about it.Buddhism is like a snake.Don't touch it wrong side.you should not try to make relation between Buddhism and Islam.they are Two ways which never meet(or earth and sky).
