I'm currently in my second trimester with my third pregnancy. I loved how candid you describe your birth experience. In my experience, just like each baby is unique and different, so is each pregnancy and birth. I have a completely new experience every time, and my only advice to others is breathe and be open to what the experience is offering you. Sometimes things don't go as planned, but that doesn't mean that they've "gone wrong" . Best of luck to all the expecting, or new mamas out there! Well done Sofie! You brought an angel to Earth, and I am so excited for the journey you are starting. Love and blessings to your beautiful family ❤

You have proven yourself to be a fearless birth warrior and now you are the most amazing - loving mama bear. Love watching you navigate this new and most beautiful journey of motherhood. Enjoy every day, even the hard ones because they fly by in no time. I couldn’t be prouder of how you have handled all of this- so far away from your birth country and family. Love you both ❤! Emilio is such a loving and hands on father and I’m so thankful for his loving and kind family who have supported you when you needed it most. I love you always and my respect deepens as you mature into the woman you have become! Love always, Mum

Sofie! ❤ This was such an informative video. I am 40 and have been terrified to be pregnant and give birth in America all my life, I gave myself 2 years to make the final decision, your beautiful details gave so much information on what actually happens, other than hearing ‘oh it’s fine, you will be fine’. Thank you for making this video! I feel that I am growing with your videos! You both make a beautiful couple and now parents, may your baby grow to thrive! And as a European I may just have to move back to Europe to really feel if I should go through a pregnancy or not.

Aw I'm so glad you found it useful! I was also scared... but what helped me get through it was remember that women have been doing this since the beginning of time and the pain/discomfort is minuscule compared to the joy it brings you 🥰 It's ultimately a personal decision, but just follow your gut! Good luck x

Congratulations to you and Emilio on your beautiful Kaia Rose! I remember with my first delivery my gynecolgist ordered pitocin when I was only 3cm dilated and it went very quickly after that. With my second baby I barely made it to the hospital being fully dilated!!! Perhaps it would have been a shorter labor if they had given you pitocin instead. Also, just wondering if you had ever considered a home birth?

Thank you! Home birthing here isn’t that big, I did consider Santa Margherita birthing center next to careggi for an all natural birth was as my first birth, I was scared and wanted the meds (which now in retrospect I could’ve done all natural 😂) maybe next time 🙃

Congratulations! I loved hearing your story. And lol about losing all inhibitions. Definitely agree 😂 And your description about not being able to hold it in any more- yes. They wouldn’t allow me to push because they were waiting for the doctor. Trying to stop my body from doing what it wanted to do was honestly the hardest part of my entire labor.

I always wondered why no one talks about the delivery of the placenta and I think you answered my question. I was annoyed that they wanted to inject me with something immediately after birth for delivery of the placenta and they wanted it out asap. They were tugging on the cord that tugged on my insides. I really wanted to put my legs down for a rest after birth but they wouldn’t let me. It felt like trying to get the placenta out was almost as tense as them trying to get the baby out. They said I could hemorrhage it was horrible. Glad that part went smoothly for you. I found that the doctors and nurses pushed my tummy, injected me and manhandled me without speaking to me or explaining anything. I’ll be giving birth for the second time here in Ferrara Italy later this year. Feels like anything could happen so there is no point preparing. Wondering if you recommend the antenatal classes?
@sofiesworld7 ай бұрын
Aw man, I’m sorry that was your experience! I’m sure that was traumatizing after giving birth, you’re just so exhausted and want to snuggle baby. I loved my antenatal classes, learned a lot - especially helped mentally. Best of luck!💕

Congratulations Sofie, I love the name Kaia ❤ the story was unexpectedly detailed lol, but I really enjoyed it, because it’s very important to give as much informations as we can and share our experiences in order to help others not to feel anxious. It must be so helpful for someone who doesn’t know what to expect, especially because there’s this fear of being “gross” that we end up not knowing very crucial things and as you said, at the end of the day we’re animals and your instincts prevailed 😊 Good luck to the whole family and enjoy every moment ❤

Congratulations on your sweet girl! This is so interesting to me. I had my children in Germany under the public system. While laboring, you have your own labor room where the partner can stay. Only after a few hours of monitoring after the birth are mom and baby brought to the post-partum rooms where you might share with another mom/baby. I never had to share which surprised me. But I chose a small country hospital. That animalistic instinct makes me laugh. During push contractions, I apparently was making growling noises. I turned to everyone and said, who is making that annoying noise? Then I realized it was me. Each push contraction started in my throat and just pushed down with almost no effort from me. My body just took over. It was almost like an out of body experience as I was living it, yet was able to be separate and observe it. Very strange/amazing experience.
@sofiesworld7 ай бұрын
Thats so nice you were able to labor entirely in your own room. I wish that was the case! But at least the delivery room is private 😅 And yes haha completely out of body experience 🤯💕

Wow congratulations girl! Thank you for sharing your story I've always been curious what would be the difference in Italy vs US in giving birth. I have to say I had a similar situation with you in regards to water breaking and having that specific bacteria and needing the get induced and the labor taking over 24 hours. One positive aspect for me was I was able to get an epidural very early on. Negative side for me was they did not allow me to eat once I got induced. Nothing but broth and jello. So I gave birth and breastfed for the first time pretty much starved or energy and literally starving 😅. This was in Houston TX and the women's hospital of Texas. Birthing is no walk in the park with butterflies so I'm definitely not upset with my experience. Congrats again momma. The first months are hard but omgsh my son is now 2 years old and it's the best time ever ❤
