I am 23, i have worked in and out of despicable shops since i was 15 grunting my way up in order to learn what i needed to make a Career for myself. This channel provides all the information i quite literally had to fight (hand to hand) to learn. No other yt channel can say that they influenced entire careers for young adults across the entire country and to say that is invaluable would be a complete understatement to what this team does for aspiring mechanics. Im gonna go ahead and say thank you on the behalf of everyone for everything this channel has done.

Good on you mate, sounds like you're doing well. I'm 22 myself and I've been working as a mechanics apprentice for a few months, real rough industry but I love it so far. I figured out pretty quick a good way to earn some points with the older blokes is to volunteer to do the bits of the job that are uncomfortable, annoying, painful or just gross. If you've got any tips for someone new to the industry I'd appreciate it.

All those cars they bought are "dirt cheap" and it usually priced at less than 5000 dollars to give to their loyal subscribers, not just wannabe subscribers. Aaron was shown alot in High and Low series, thats why he had lots of knowledge about cars since he is one who worked behind the scenes with those boys especially on 350Z episodes, those cars are hard to tune due tech complexity compared to old Z series which is simpler and less tech.

@CGT80
@CGT80 2 жыл бұрын
@@areminderofwhatweare I don't watch sports and have zero interest in playing basketball, but if it isn't against the rules, go for it. Do basketball teams not pass the ball to a person waiting in a good location to easily get the ball in the net? I would bet the way the game is started would prevent you from doing what you described if you were a single player. If players on a team don't do that, then it is either not possible or practical or against rules....there are plenty of people out there just to win. I do watch Cleetus McFarland (for the mechanics, story, and characters/people, not really the racing) where they do what they can to win races and they have run their car with no coolant on a hurt engine and gambled further damaging it to win the race or set a new record. It depends on the players' goals. I compete in shooting competitions where I have to decide how I want to tackle a course of fire and there are sometimes shortcuts you can use that do not break the rules but require creative thinking or planning. Each course will have directions and /or requirements that vary and a big part of the game is for each shooter to decide what order and method to use to get the hits as fast as possible to have the fastest time.

Came in the house to take a break and eat some food to clear my head and stumbled across this video. When the ground topic came up I was like "Shit, I never reinstalled the ground strap from the head to the body. Couldn't find the OG so I made a new ground strap and vroom!!! she started right up! Now the tune is way off and I need to adjust my timing, but the new forged motor is purring. Easiest subscribe and like I made all year! Love the series - Keep them coming! A big Thanks to your crew!

I'm a young mechanic barely getting into it about 5 years ago when I made it my mission to get my grandpa's 1982 f100 running after he passed away. It hurt me watching rot on the driveway so I decided to watch KZbin videos and get ford literature to look at. It brings joy hearing that engine crank and try to run in fact I have that feeling in my throat like crying while writing this comment because it reminds me of when I finally got my grandpa's truck to run after such a long time. Going from very little knowledge to knowing as much as I know now is proof that you can learn so much from just jumping into working on a project vehicle. Working with your hands and having that drive to get something done.

For that fuel rod, take some grease and put it on both ends. It helps lube the fuel pump and the grease will hold it in place when you push it into the block so it doesn't fall down

Or you can just put a new synchronizer on each double lopsided gearpair, and new ball bearings on the exhaust fans. Optionally the fuel pipes needs to be redirected to the toprad via the engine block directly to the alphatronic!

FYI there is a very short bolt in the front of the engine that covers a hole that a longer bolt will lock the pushrod up so fuel pump removal and installation is easy and you do not need to fight the pushrod. It's just below the freeze plug on the front of the motor right side.

Small block Chevy has a bolt in the front of the block near the fuel pump. It was a left over from the previous pre 1955 motor mount design. You can pull that bolt out put your favorite flat head screwdriver in to hold the rod up putting in the new pump. Just make sure to throw a little silicone on a washer when you put that bolt in. Oil from the crank will leak out if you don’t.

In case there’s an engine being an ass with fitting the pushrod during fuel pump replacement, it’s safe to use standard “palm size”- a glob of petroleum jelly to help hold it in place. Soon as engine starts it dissipates with heat and will not harm anything, just like it doesn’t harm your hand from the friction.

Great channel donut media guys!! Neat video idea and there's actually a neat trick when changing the fuel pump to keep the eccentric rod from falling down on the front of the motor passenger side of the block about straight down from the water pump bolts and alternator bracket,there's two bolt holes one is a threaded boss and one is just tapped take the bolt out hold your finger against the fuel pump eccentric rod and put the bolt from the threaded boss in the tapped bolt hole and install the fuel pump..

Not sure if anyone else mentioned this or not; He was right about turning the engine over to install the fuel pump rod. In addition,in a sbc, there is a short bolt on the front of the engine by the fuel pump. To install the fuel pump rod, Remove this short bolt insert the rod and loosely installed a longer bolt to hold the rod up. Install the fuel pump, then remove the longer bolt and reinstall the short bolt to avoid an oil leak.

theres a bolt on the front of the block that goes into the cavity where the fuel pump bolts up. that allows you to put a screw driver into it and hold the push rod up while installing the fuel pump. just need a little rtv on the bolt when you put it back in.
