You should install a warming pad along the bottom, lengthwise to encourage the snake to want to go in tube. It will also act as positive reinforcement. Also consider a cooling fan. Also adding pressure switches on one end, on both sides of where the head would be, might alow the snake to turn the mech-suit by turning its head.

Got a bit of a story here. My mom’s used-to-be friend bought a snake back in 1991 for the whole “ooh a snake” factor. She named her Monty. For reference, Monty *IS* a Ball Python. Monty Python? You get it. But sadly, this lady did not take proper care of Monty and used a human heating pad on her. Monty was one inch long at the time, and the heating pad burnt her entire body. She had all the proper care after my mother took Monty away from that mean lady, all the shots, medicine, you name it. The doctor said that the best-case scenario is that Monty would lose her tail. Happily, that never happened. Monty is a happy snake, measuring to five feet long, and still has a tail. She has a few little spots on her belly where the scales still haven’t grown back. When Monty was in her childhood years, she used to rub her eyes a lot. My mom could never get her to stop. Sadly, she has an eye problem now. Monty has scars on the outer shell of her eyes, so sadly, she can’t hunt too well, nor can she see good. Me and my brother grew up with taking care of Monty, and she’s very fond of people. Mainly, kids. I think she knows that children won’t hurt her. Monty is 30 years old and still kicking. I always wondered what those little brown things were on her butt. Thank you for educating me, for my mother and father had no clue! Edit: I have a bearded dragon with half a tail, can she get a tail extension device? 😂💀

Just so you know, male lizards also have hemipenes (and legs, generally speaking). So the hemipenes are NOT the vestigial legs; they are reproductive organs. The genitals in reptiles are like that because they develop close to the back legs (or where the leg spurs are, in the case of a snake) in the embryonic stage.
