Giving Some Love to Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom

We're going off the rails! This time around we're continuing our series where we look at all of the lands of Magic Kingdom and beyond with the rest of Walt Disney World. This time around we're grabbing some pixie dust and heading to Fantasyland to discuss it's a small world, Peter Pan's Flight, Mickey's PhilharMagic, and whether or not Pooh is dead at the end of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

The country's oldest carousel on Martha's Vineyard - The Flying Horses, has rings that you grab. The last ring is the gold ring and you get a free ride.

I enjoy this show. Each one of the Fab 4 contributes in his/her own unique way. Ryno reminds me of Robin Williams with his quick wit and twinkling eyes. Craig is nerdy and has a great sense of humor. Deni is so articulate and spot on with her observations. And, Jackie is Pixie Dust !

Knoebels is a great Amusement Park if anyone is in the area, btw. Especially if you're a carousel fan. The rings is on The Grand Carousel, but they have two others and they're all restored antiques. They also have a carousel museum in the park. They also relocate and restore old wooden coasters, and The Phoenix has been consistently voted a World Wide top 10 wooden roller coaster since they installed it in '86. Also, the whole park is one of the few remaining free admission parks in the US.

I agree! I grew up in NEPA and we would visit knoebels almost every summer when I was a child! I'd always look forward to it! It's such a great park!

We homeschooled for a year and we did school one day on the second story balcony at Pinnochio Village Haus, overlooking Fantasyland. My kids still talk about that day. It was so magical!

Oh my gosh, these four just unlocked a core memory of my local carousel growing up and trying to catch the brass ring! If you’ve never been to Balboa Park in San Diego, there is a carousel that was built in 1910 and it still has the brass ring game.

I love this show. I always laugh and it is what I need. As a resident of PA and visiting Knoeble's on a yearly basis I have indeed been on the carousel that has the rings. By the way the K is pronounced in their name. It is a beautiful park and is worth a visit. Their is no admission or parking fees. You can buy an all day wristband or do individual rides with tickets. Most of the rides are $1.50 or less to ride. Also if you love wooden coasters they have one of the oldest, The Phoenix. Their other wooden coaster is the Twister, I have been on that one but can not ride it anymore due to back issues.

Yes, Knoebels has tickets, just like Disneyland and The Magic Kingdom did back in the day. I'm pretty sure there was a group on FB that was Disney Fans a Knoebels or something like that. I think the DIS needs to make a field trip to Pennsylvania to go to Knoebels one of these years. It would be awesome!!!!!!

The attraction in Mickey’s Philamagic was the Mickey Mouse Review an animatronic show featuring the characters popping in and out until the end with Mickey as the conductor. The very first attraction I experienced back in November 1977.. Attraction was moved to Tokyo Disney where it ran until recently. Experienced A Small World at the NYC Worlds Fair in 1964. Moved to California where it has been since. Best time on Tea Cups was spinning the cup with 2 hungover friends. That is what they get for screwing with my ,MK day. Miss Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. Friar Tucks was the best at MK when it was pulled pork with mac’n’cheese.

Our dogs' names are Edward DeVere and William Shakespeare. I had a Yorkie whose former owner named him Racer. it was fitting; he ran like the wind. I tend to feel, however, that "Racer" is the name of a bright red sporty vehicle with a bright yellow lightening painted on the side. He was two years old, however, and I felt bad about expecting him to learn a new name, so I added "The Pooh". He was my Pooh Bear for many years.
