Sea foam green or sage for me. I always paint the edge of the glass & use a blade to scrape it off, sealing any air leaks at the same time, usually on the inside.

Sean, you could extend the height of the doors by simply adding timber to the bottoms. Either new wood you could camouflage or a part of a 'sacrificial' door. Yes it would be seen but so much better than what's there now. Oh, and I preferred the green. Not a fan of the blue.

Years ago when my grandmother was young, they would paint the stairs white then do a stripe about 2-3 ft wide all the way up the steps in the color of the door. It looked so tidy.

Agree with other comments, the green door looked really nice and very in keeping with the rustic beauty. Whilst I like strong blues it looks a bit too stark to me and feels more ‘nautical’ with the white than rustic. But just my opinion, do whatever makes you happy 😊

The doors are lovely! Maybe to get the length you're wanting -- put a plank on the bottom of the one you want to use and cover it with like.. a copper kick-plate?

Sean, as you know, the doors were incrementally shortened every time they added a new layer of flooring..I think they counted 4 layers and some were quite thick. I keep thinking that they have lots of old wood that’s being removed. Some might be oak of the same age. If anyone can add the bottom back on a door and finish it to match, it’s you!

Hard to tell what all the doors colors should be without seeing a view of the entire series of cottages together. Then what is it you are going for as the owners? Do you want this row to look like seperate cottages or for unity??? Love the mother superior’s door you are getting!!!😉

I just paint over the glass, and when dry I cut into the edge with an exacto knife to leave the wood covered and sealed then scrape the glass with a one-sided razor blade. I personally like the bright blue door.

Sam is so lovely. Her finds are always beautiful. The doors will look great in your cottage, Sean. Also, I like sage green or a pale, sea foam green if you want to know. The blue while pretty is a bit too in your face if you know what I mean. But it's your place. You do you. And thanks in advance for helping Ryan out. You're a good man!

You could probably use wood from one of the other doors to add a bigger base on the bottom of one to make it longer. Instead of one big panel wall you could also have a half panel on the bottom of the walls. Very good in a hall way or heavy use area to protect the walls. You would be a great help to Ryan and able to sit back and rest your leg and back while giving advice. Just make your own tea, he drowns it in milk. 😻

One of the doors in worse condition could be used to extend the door height. I have watched other KZbin channels where they cut up or cut off bad paneling and fit it all together to repair what they have. and I like your Idea of using the doors as paneling I am looking forward to everything coming together in your cottage.

I think adding a horizontal piece of oak to the bottom of the doors could make them taller. You might like to watch Escape to the Chateau and check out how they have reworked their paneling. It could work!

Look up talevera tile stencils from Royal Design. Consider painting the risers on those steps w tile stencils (using the royal blue from your other door) and some other coordinating colors.
