I've been using the asrock challenger a380 since memorial day, with a 12400/h670 d4. It had some odd issues with text on buttons when in dx9. It got resolved in the November driver update. While not giving high frame rates, it's 'monitor' is an old 24" 1080p TV that maxes at 60hz. It does all my normal productivity things without issues except the things that require cuda or tensor cores, those have already been ported over to my jetson xavier nx for a combination of availability and power efficiency.

Yea i think its a decent little card, after rebar got turned on, but gaming is rough sometimes. We will see, these new drivers coming this month if not out already are supposed to make the arc gpus pretty decent in older rendering engines. We shall see!

The intel arc a380 is more for 1080p gaming and that is also why u should pop open intel control where u can turn on retro scaling which turns whatever resolution ur using to basically look like ur using any other larger resolution not only giving fps boost but in some pcs getting rid of stutter. Also if someone here is looking for a automatically boosted a380 card get the asrock it comes whit built in mhz clock boost of 2450mhx max

Hello Zach! I am not sure if the A380 would be the best for editing and rendering. Maybe that would be something I could look into and see if its feasible or if its just not fast enough. I edit in premiere with a 3 gen old intel i7, but my bench runs a Ryzen 7 5800X which is slightly faster than my current intel. Ryzen 5000 series on a b550 motherboard should be just fine for editing, unless you are talking about rendering cinema movies and doing CGI and effects to that nature. As for the GPU I run an Nvidia RTX 3080 and it renders my 10 min youtube vids in just 2-3 mins. I guess it really just depends on what you are looking to edit with it to be certain what you may want or need and your budget. For around a grand you could grab a b550, Ryzen 5000 series chip and a 3050 or 3060. I know intel arc is solid for video encoding with that AV1 stuff, I am just not sure on video editing. Like I said though, this may be a good video idea as you have colored me curious now!

For sure! Yea i think that should be fine for premiere editing! I used to run a 2070 and i think the 3060 may be slightly faster than that, maybe a little slower, id have to look, but it should be just fine for editing videos in premiere!

Hello. Maybe my comment will be outdated but I really need help. Right now I’m looking for a dedicated streaming pc using av1. And I have two options both almost the same price. First is to build pc with 16gb ram i5-12400f and arc a380. The second one is a laptop Lenovo LOQ 15iax9i with i5-12450HX 8gb ram and Intel Arc a530m 4gb. The ram can be changed on laptop, it has 2 slots. The only reason that I didn’t choose laptop already, I’m not sure is it enough a530m with 4gb for 1080p/60 or 1440p/60 av1 streaming. Did you have any thoughts on this?

Personally i would build the rig with the a380 IF you have room for it, 4gb vs 6gb card but i dont have a ton of experience with dedicated streaming pcs!

Better card than i thought, but i think running an Arc card on an Intel system, there are several settings that can improve performance a bit overall, both in bios and with the graphic driver itself + some of the features that comes with your software for your Mobo(depending on the Mobo). So all in all a good card for the price here in Denmark. I will go for it in my next 1080p build, the price is fantastic 🎶💯🎶 Btw. Thx for the video

I got one of these for my son for $80 open box. He had a rx 570 and a xeon 1230 v3 ( its a i7 4770 with no igpu ) The card beats the 570 without Rebar, which is not saying much. I got him a 10th gen CPU and hopefully I can get rebar working on he new mobo and a few fps extra out of this gpu. Not a bad buy for what I paid.

Nice video. Next month intel will release new ultimate drivers where they will increase performance drastically by removing bottleneck. I am interested to see how A380 will perform after that update. So please make a video when those drivers will come out and compere it with this last test you have made. This card have good hardver, i am curious how it will perform when its fully utilized. For a streaming PC? I think it would be solid! Though its the lower of the lineup it still does offer AV1 encoding. I was going to put this into my bench to encode gameplay video while doing tests in future videos. I think it would be perfect for a dual streaming PC setup! It is even getting better with gaming. Not the best, but decent with all the new driver updates intel has been pushing!

@@MicavityCatYT Oh interesting! For the price point you REALLY can't beat it. My issue would be with AV1 encoding, I understand Twitch does not support it and probably won't as far as I can tell. h.264 encoding would be the go to for this card but can cause some graininess with certain games like Tarkov and maybe Warzone. If you create a budget streaming PC build video with this card for under $500 I guarantee it'll be a hit video! Thanks for the response!

Here is something for you to test. ARC a770 16gb. Compare high end INTEL CPU for example i7-13700 to AMD equivelant. 4k. The AMD CPU seems to give ghosting and glitches. INTEL CPU more FPS.

I have no experience with the 6500 xt. really depends on what you want to do with it! For gaming, I probably wouldnt go with the A380. Looks like according to userbenchmark (take it with a grain of salt) the rx 580 is 3% faster than the 6500 xt, but the 6500 xt is newer and will have support for longer. idk if the 580 has driver support anymore or not and idk when they plan on stopping that!

In general or for a budget? I run a rtx 3080 in my gaming rig. For budget options it depends on the budget. the 4060 will be releasing soon for $299. the 3060 can be had on ebay from 200-300 dollars and the 3070 is going from 350-500. My wife runs an Arc A750 and it does pretty well for a 220 dollar card. I like the A380 but not for gaming. It does OK but some games push it too hard and others you have to play on the lowest settings to get in playable. A380 is an awesome encoding card for a media PC or for a streaming PC in my opinion.

I run the 6800XT, my son has a Nvidia 3070. But a friend of mine bought the RX6600 and it blew me away, what a great card... Beautiful graphics
