Just cleaning out the exhaust port and removing the sump plug. Seems to have reduced the smoking a little bit more.

Was suprissed the exhaust port was so clear, mabey that full speed run the other day cleared it out.....good old Villiers, never wear out lol I expect there is a lot of oil in the bottom of that exhaust, the other possibility is that it's running far too rich, have you tried re setting the mixture needle height? Sounds good though and not too smokey now.

I'll do a video showing how to do it in a couple of days.

@steamwally ive only ever cleaned the carb. It could be running a bit rich. How do you go about adjusting the mix? I was surprised to see it so clean and in such good shape. I can see a little movement in the rings, so perhaps a replacement set in the future. But for now and for the little use it gets ill leave it like that. Dan

Villiers engines are supposed to emit a certain amount of smoke,if they don't,there is trouble ahead because of the lack of oil in the "petroil" mixture. Setting the carb needle is simple,I'm sure steamwally will illustrate the procedure quite clearly in his video.

Hi there! Smoking alot less now, I reckon you can get away with 32:1 mix Also i reckon if you give it a lot of work it will clear it out Adam
