When you install wired edge detectors on the gate, how do you install the cable back to the operator to allow it to travel with the gate but not be exposed to damage? I have an application where we’d like to avoid wireless devices if possible

We use a lot of power master gate openers here. generally if I have to remove a concrete base I will lift it with bob and break the concrete with a sledgehammer. The heat blanket is a great idea for bending conduit, I usually use a heat gun and generator. Had no idea you could get a premade pedestal We prefer a rack and pinion system over a chain.

Safety disclaimer: don’t forget to disconnect/de energize the main power to the unit before performing demolition. Lol. Another great video guys, I only have about 10-15 more to watch to catch up from the last couple months.

What specific type and width of blade are you using for the saw cut in order to fit the bd loop in the asphalt? Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. Its been a real resource for information while i expand the services i offer.
@SWiFence

Thanks! We use the blade from bd that is the same thickness as the loops. there are thinner loops out there as well.

Wel-200 is a great edge kit. Use them all the time. Never really cared for Viking operator’s. My preference is door king. I’ve had the least amount of call backs on them. Do you guys like hy-security operator’s? The programmable features are on another level with them. Love your videos keep it up.

Dan… Man O’ Man… Gate Operator? What will they think of next? As you know… I grew up in a farm. I have vast experiences with fences and gates. As to Gate Operators… that was my job. Only, my title was Gate Boss!!! On the dairy farm, there are a bazillion gates. You have entry gates, man gates, corral gates, sorting gates, stanchion gates, drop gates, head gates… we even had a neighbor named John Gates! Each one opened, closed and locked in a different way. Dependent on the task, they might have to be operated differently. And, many times more than one gate had to be operated in tandem. Dan, cows have a mind of their own… although they learn to respect a good solid gate… you get them excited and they totally lose their gate sense. Now a 200 lb calf can be Bossed fairly easily. That 1000 lb cow can normally be returned to sanity with a quick exhibition of proper Bossing authority. But, a one ton bull? Well sir there ain’t a lot of gates out there that a mere Gate Operator could wield into place and stop them. Because just getting it in place in front of them is like stopping a freight train by parking a Prius on the tracks. However, a Gate Boss who has graduated from the Farm Boy School of Gate Management, can size up the situation immediately…. Decide if the bull can be turned… Decide whether that gate is stout enough to survive the onslaught of that ton of raging beef… and Boss that gate open or closed to do the job! And, they can do it regardless of whether their circuit board is clean and vertical.., or slanted and covered with fecal matter. Note: Failure to exercise the right judgement will likely result in the circuit board being immediately slammed into the horizontal plane and buried in fecal matter! So Dan, riddle me this… these Gate Operators you propose… and their vertically positioned brains… Will they render Gate Bosses obsolete? Will farm boys everywhere be deprived of the lessons, that only a ton of beef chasing a half ton of female in heat, can teach? Or, is that really the hidden plot behind the whole Gate Operator idea? FYI… our neighbor John Gates raised hogs… let’s not go into the advanced Gate Bossing skills required over at his place!

Pretty sure all the Gate Boss positions will continue to remain secure. Gate Operators aren't really competing in the same market. 😄

You really like All-O-Matic? Can't stand them, prefer to use Hysecurity. Clients we have with All-O-Matic have nothing but issues from them.

Viking makes an excellent product! But...your environment may be more conducive to other opener brands that have a board installed differently. Mice, lizards, etc ARE problems for many openers though, not just Viking. All-O-Matic is a very woke company that fired employees for not getting the jab. Yea...true story. One way to fix the rodent problem is with MOTH BALLS or INSECT EAR TAGS like farm and ranch stores sell for cattle in those types of environments.
