Yes, the 7 years flew by. If you could have been my piano teacher 60 years ago, I might have not given up. But, in defence to the teacher I gave up on, if I had to listen to absolute beginners most of the time, I might start drinking too. I would not have thought that this sweet beautiful young woman that plays, improvises, composes so very well would have a wicked sense of humour too. So that makes you even better. As to the music in this video. I'm not into merch and not studying piano, but to listen to you and for the theory part, imagine what could have been. That's not sad, by the way. I enjoy it. Your ability to play themes in the style of, wow. A friend in high school could do that but you are the world champion. If you made a CD-volume performance of pieces in, my favourite romantic-not-classical ;), composer is Chopin and so for me it would all have to be in that style, Chopin style I would buy that without hesitations. Another project, I would be really interested in seeing and hearing you do, is play for, and at some point with, dancers. Because playing live music to dancers can become a game between music and dance. And if done well, they will love it. What's the point? So many pieces in classical (in the widest sense) music are titled after dances. Mazurka, Krakowiak, Waltz, minuet, sarabande, allemande - a Wiki lists a lot more. As research and analysis, it would be nice to see how danceable these pieces by the great composers actually are. And what we can learn from that in how it has to be performed. Sometimes solutions to problems are so simple that nobody had thought of it. Van Beethoven's metronome numbers got musicologists going on and on, about what would constitute a beat and other ideas. It turns out that Ludwig read the number on the wrong side of the weight on the pendulum. Did Chopin assume you play the mazurkas syncopated, or did he shift the bar? Is it clear when to place an accent on the 2nd or alternatively on the 3rd note? It can be either in the dance. What would we learn from that? Another performance? As dances have natural tempo, they inform a lot about the meaning of tempo indications. Other research would also be interesting. Chopin was a fan of Bach (J.S.) and - I forgot which piece it is - in one of his pieces there are a few bars to be played as a fugue. Played "correctly" but not as fugue, the notes sound "not wrong" but also make no sense. Where is Bach in Chopin? And each of these investigations could trigger inspiration for a composer, music lessons, and entertainment. As you are joking in the video, I never wondered how French the Chopin family name of Frédéric and his father would have been - there's no such word in the French dictionary AFAIK. A couple months ago, a big lorry (semi), that apparently - photos on it - transported baked products, seemingly lost from France in my Dutch country, drove by. The brand was Chaud Pain and the moment I read it, I though, that's it. Enough blabbering. Oh, if people e-mail you asking if you recently posted a video, tell them to not only subscribe but also add the "All" bell icon for this channel. And add the channel to their bookmarks. Etc.

First off - very adorable dog that was speaking to you under the piano - he/she is so cute. Second, I'm glad you are continuing with with the channel. I'm 65 years old and self-teaching myself to play the piano. It's always been something I've wanted to learn but working and taking care of an elderly parent, I never found the amount of time I needed to dedicate to practice. Now that I'm retired, I am pursing my interest in the piano. I learn from tutorials and a few select youtube channels to hear such great musicians as yourself that inspire me. I really enjoy your channel. Thanks for providing great music and inspiration.
