My new cat is only a year old and does the same thing. It started dramatically after he was walking with me outside and suddenly bolted back to the house.

It looks as though it's her left hip joint which is the one affected by hip dysplasia the most because she wobbles on it and she is reluctant to move around when playing.

Yeah it can be a bit scary watching your cat loose their balance, so i got her cheched out. She is on pain medication sometimes, so it is always a good thing to visit the vet. She cant jump up on counters or any really high furniture. But I made small chances to my living space so she can enjoy some higer places like all cats loves. Hope you find a comfertable living situation with your cat 😊

How is Gizmo? She looks so young. Hope she's well. My Maine Coon has the same problem and I'd like to know what you have been doing for her treatment. Physiotherapy? Regards from Brazil.

Gizmo sadly passed away 3 months ago to an unrelated sudden emergency. But she did well with her joints up until the end. I had some pain medicine for her in case she had a real bad day. I always had it warm enough for her, it got worse when cold. So hot water bottle she could lay by, caves and giving her snuggles helped her with the heat issues. I made it my quest by docters orders to stretch and bend her legs a couple of times a day to help with muscle building. Which meant she could not "skip" play time, because this helped her getting her body moving. I never took her to any special treatment outside of the home, unfortuantly she was terrified to leave the home and she would tense up and make it worse for her pain. She was 3years old when she started showing symptoms and passed away at 10. She lived with it for 7 years and I believe she would have had many more if nothing else had happens. You are welcome to ask any questions about it I hope you find some relief for your Cat ❤
