At first this man didn't want a cat, but his swimming buddy Frosty changed everything. It took time for them to develop the bond, but when they did, a cat dad was born. Soon, Stefan discovered Frosty's affinity for swimming, He was super curious about water and started jumping to the shower, and then the bath and finally the swimming pool.

1. Put your cat NEAR your pool first,.. so he can see you calling him and walking around in the water, for 3 OR 4 minutes or so,... then hop up out of the pool, to your cat. 2. Put a "soft spongy heat suit, like surfers wear" on your cat (check em on the internet,.. they're cheap, not expensive) then pick cat up, and enter the pool,.. with puddys head above the water, while carrying it to the centre of the pool. Then walk some 4 or 5 medium circles, so cat has to learn to paddle its legs,.. then repeat again, more slowly though,.. in case puddy has run outta gas. Then a few more medium circles,.. and more slower ones for puddy cats breathing recovery.... (then) 3. With cats head still above the water,.. calmly paddle walk him from centre pool,.. over to the pools exit,.. then lift him then yourself out, poolside. Immediately thereafter,.. award that big bad fluffy thang,.. some extra big pats for having completed its "first ever" swimming lesson !!! ✌️😄😲😄😄😄👆

Frosty looks like a Ragdoll or Ragdoll mix. They were bred to be docile (somewhat opposite their Siamese ancestors, from whom they get their coloring--but not catitude or voice) and loving. They also tend to like water. We rescued our first Ragdoll mix thinking she was a Siamese mix. Boy, were we surprised! She didn't talk and was beyond chill: you could do bicep curls using her as a weight, and in bed, she would curl up in her human mom's armpit, and if mom rolled over and took her with, she'd snuggle closer, saying "Ah, this is purrfect!" (Any of our others would be in another room if you tried that.) She also would enter the shower while it was running to drink the water. We miss the amazing Lynx.

Cats are cool. I accidentally wound up with 4 cats at one point. They will actually form a little pride. One time a German shepherd was in our yard. Then from all directions the 4 cats slowly converged on him and started growling at him. He ran away yelping not knowing what just happened.

Tigers and Lions love water. Cats do too but the thing is, they love water when they need to 'cool' off. If you live in a warmer climate region your cat will love water more so than if you lived in a temperate or cold climate, since they don't have a need for water.

Maine Coons have a three layer coat that is almost impervious to rain. Our Maine Coon doesn't care if it's raining or not - she will still go out and some days will come back in literally running with water. She chirrups to make sure you're still there and then disappears back out again. I have a photograph of her crouched in the snow because she was determined to catch a (European) robin that was pecking insects from the bare stone patch on our porch. The robin was not stupid enough to hang around 😆

A lot of people seem to get a surprise at how many cat breeds are commonly water-lovers? Off the top of my head Abyssinians, Bengals and some Maine coons, but I'm sure there are plenty of others! This is so beautiful. I know that I am allergic to cats so we can't have a cat family, but I can watch Frosty in hers. I like how she let's you know when she needs a bath. Sooooo cute.❤😺❤

@@True.Honesty100 I love my pets. Some people say that there are cat lovers or dog lovers. I've had some great pet dogs. One was rescued, one rehomed, and a couple with special needs. But I also like cats, and would have one if I could. I am a dog and cat person by nature.

@@True.Honesty100 I am an animal lover. For household pets it is dogs for me because of allergies. No cats. No birds. I love going out in nature to photograph animals. I am an artist. I also support animal rescue and help with our local wildlife rehab. If you don't care for my choices, that is fine, but please accept that I have made these choices with thoughtful decisions.

There's tablets you can take. Also you will build up an immunity once they're around you. I don't know one allergic person who, once ignoring that, went on to own cats and not have it worry them! It's actually the saliva that ppl are allergic too and even non allergic ppl cannot touch their eyes after nursing kitty before washing their hands! A small price to pay for the love of a cat!

@@mellawes533 It is the proteins that cause allergic reactions. I can control some of my allergies with medicine, but my allergy to cats is too strong. There are new ideas about allergies and I hope that one day I'll be able to pet cats.

I have two cats and every time I move, I make sure I get them a patio or balcony because they love to go out and get fresh air. My sister said I was being ridiculous taking their needs into account. But I disagree. They need to be happy too.

Frosty is a beautiful cat. Watching him swim is so interesting. I am aware cats instinctively know how to swim, but watching him swim for fun, and being a swim buddy with your husband is great! I think men like to do things and that's why they tend to gravitate towards dogs. Frosty's interest in swimming has worked so well to entice your husband into spending quality time with him. Prrrrfect human/cat match! ❤

Rag Doll Cats are true Companions I had a Siamese/Persian mix and she loved the bathtub to drink water and didn't mind a bath and a dryer ...miss her so much 😢😊❤😊 P.S. Great to see her swimming and being an all around companion.
