Thanks bro for the help after watching your video i ordered the phone on Christmas day at 12 noon and d 1st thing i did when it arrived was to enable camera to api as u had shown in the video. 2-3 times it didn't work after that it works and today i have both pixel 2 and pixel 3 cameras installed all thanks to you

Got mine today. first thing i did after setting up was installing GCam. Thanks for the review video btw. It showed the difference, else i would have stayed with the stock one till i flash a custom rom. I knew it will make difference but didn't expect this much.

@Nishanth Venkatesan its not a driver setup. Plug in your phone and go to devie manager (windows button + x) and check if your phone is listed as an unrecognised device with a caution sign. If so, right click it and update driver and choose the manual option and select the folder you extracted. Done. If this doesn't work, then try 1) different usb port 2) try disabling usb debugging and switch it on again and try once more 3) try revoking all usb debugging permissions in developer options. Note: make sure the ADB setup was done properly.

I am curious to know how this device will fare against the Poco f1, in general. As the base variant(6gb/64gb) of F1 is available for ~18k with the debit/credit card discount, whereas the top variant(6gb/64gb) of Zenfone pro m2 is being released at 17k(16k with HDFC card offer). I was about to buy the new zenfone but the built quality made me reconsider my decision, while the poco always felt quite sturdy and the hardware is definitely superior, what worries me about the poco is the pestering software bugs that comes with it. So will it be wise to spend an extra 1-2k and get a Poco instead?

I saw a lot of videos on enabling camera2api and noticed one thing that all the devices (Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2) are running on October Security patch. I think with the December Security patch update Asus disabled the capability to turn on the camera2api that's why after doing all the steps correctly it shows 'waiting for device'. It would be nice if you can tell how to enable camera2api after December Security patch update.
