I’m on trial right now. It made some very poor choices a couple days ago. Thank goodness for the instant acceleration. First it tried to turn left into a median from a parking lot. Then it wouldn’t change lanes and all the sudden decided the speed limit was 35 in a 45 where people usually do about 55-60. Then… it did the thing people often do turning left at a light. It waited for the oncoming traffic to stop for the yellow/red and jumped the left turn at the last second. Training this stuff from normal drivers at least keeps not driving exciting.

@@lucadellasciucca967 So did you mean heuristic?
@theodorehaskins37568 ай бұрын
So are you familiar with another KZbinr by the name of Doctor-Know-It-All? He gives an excellent explanation of what Tesla is actually doing with FSD, that the other guys are not, and he used the term heuristic code too, and he also explained how neural networks plays into Tesla’s overall AI capabilities in terms of self driving/autonomous driving cars, which is where Tesla is driving this technology. So what folks don’t seem to get is that, Elon Musk and his folks at Tesla have imagined a future where no one drives their cars, because there will be no drivers needed, and future Tesla cars will come without steering wheels, accelerator/brake pedals, as those items will no longer be needed or required. So you will simply summon your car with your phone or some other device, and the car will meet you curbside, and so you’ve already entered the destination using voice command, and the car will drive you to your destination or wherever you wanna to go, and after you reach your destination, you’ll be able to send the car to pick up a relative or a friend or use it in a Robo taxi system. So the car will become much more utilitarian, because it doesn’t need to sit, and wait for you, because you can utilize it in various different ways, and so think about this, you have a business trip coming up, and you need to get to the airport early in the morning. So you simply load up your gear, but it in the car, and car takes you to the airport, where dingbat, move your gear, and send the car car back to your place of residence, and park itself at your home rather than having it sit in an expensive parking lot, and while you’re away, your spouse can use the car, your kids can use the car, and when you return home, you simply give the car the command to meet you at whatever time you expect to arrive, back at the airport, and the car would be waiting for you at curbside when your flight lands. So I just picked up a 2024 dual motor all wheel drive long range Tesla model S, equipped with FSD full self driving, on hardware 4, and even though it is way too much car for one person to drive around in, which makes it a a total waste of my money, but it’s a fun ride, and it’s great to have to impress my friends with, and so I am very blessed to be able to be in a position to afford to own something like this, because what we’re witnessing here today is a revolutionary, technology, that will change the way we think, work, conduct our business, and move from one place to another seamlessly, and effortlessly. So when you think about it as a driver, you don’t get to experience the car the way you would you are a passenger, and so it’s very much freeing when you’re no longer required to sit behind the wheel, because there is no wheel, therefore, you can sit in any position inside the vehicle, and play video games, watch a movie, read a book, text message a friend or business partner, talk on your phone, conduct a video conference with your colleagues or go to sleep, and never have to worry about not reaching your destination safely. So the car becomes much more utilitarian than it ever has before, as you don’t have to drive it, and that sounds like a pretty good deal to me, and not only that, the car is simply a better driver than you, and I, because we’re simply not that good at driving, and speaking for only for myself, I don’t find anything particularly exciting about driving, as I put it up there with doing household chores, like the laundry, dishwashing, mopping, and vacuum floors, all things I’ve never wanted to do. So having the opportunity to be free of these mundane tasks, is something I am very much looking forward to, and if you haven’t experienced FSD V12, then you’re in for a real treat, because it’s getting so good at driving and it’s only gonna get better and better and better, and to me that’s very exciting news because we’re going to save lives and that’s what this is about, saving lives…Cheers 🥂😅

You can buy a used Tesla with FSD. The difference between used with and without FSD is about $2-3K. Hopefully in the future the will let you transfer it to new purchase again.
@TuneupMagic8 ай бұрын
Tesla advisor told me free FSD transfer is still in effect, and no known end date yet, as we speak. Good point about buying a used Tesla with FSD! Taking advantage of the free fall in Tesla car prices, I bought my very first Tesla, used -- a 2023 Model 3 Performance (ODO: 13K-ish miles) last November in the Atlanta-Georgia market directly from Tesla for $45,700 (FSD included) before tax and registration. The asking price of a similar 2023 M3P (*without* FSD) in that market at the time, from major used-car retailers, were practically identical to what I paid for mine. Then Tesla made me do it.. traded in my M3P end of February 2024 (not losing a penny) with free FSD transfer for a brand new 2024 Model Y Performance, and also got 10K miles of free Tesla Supercharging, when I took delivery of my MYP on March 14, 2024. Less than ten (10) days later, FSD Beta v11.4.9 on my MYP became v12.3.2.1 via OTA software update. Now my MYP is running like a champ on FSD (Supervised) v12.3.4 with HW4. Feeling absolutely no betrayal, as a result of Tesla cutting their FSD monthly subscription price by 50%, because I paid practically nothing for it last November with the purchase of my used 2023 M3P that already had FSD Beta v11.4.4 installed. There is more.. my brand new MYP comes with a brand new HV battery pack, brand new high-performance Michelin tires, HW4 (significantly better FSD computer and cameras that see better) and a HEPA filter for the human. My used 2023 M3P had none of those items; that alone conservatively totaling $12,000 all things considered. Oh btw just prior to the huge price cuts last year, Tesla wanted $87,440 for a brand new MYP (FSD included) excluding taxes and other fees. By contrast, I paid only $58,494.16 out-the-door for mine; that's nearly $30K less from the peak!! lol

fyi, every professional editing program from the last 5-10 years can auto sync tracks with audio. you don't need to clap. besides, just lining up a clap waveform spike only syncs at that point if you're doing it manually. if you're recording long run times on cameras that are not timecode sync capable (yours aren't) then that initial sync point can drift over time with different cameras or different recording modes on the same model.

I was surprised that FSD suddenly got pretty good. I went probably about 50 miles the other day from a different town. It had to navigate city streets, changing lanes, freeway onramps, passing on the freeway, exiting the freeway, navigating other city streets with relatively new types of markings, and it literally got me all the way from the parking lot to my driveway with 0 interactions. It was definitely assertive (I had it on assertive) and it was startling at certain times to see what it does on the freeway, but it showed me that it was very aware of what it was doing. It's just doing it a lot more assertive than I would do it but it did it perfectly.

I love the new FSD...I was going through a yellow and almost decided to override and push the brake...but I decided to let the FSD do the driving..and thank Goodness I believed in FSD..the car sped through the yellow light and a Cadillac was on my rear bumper and would have crashed into my rear if I did an override and pressed the brake. I am a full believer in FSD and will pay the $99 standing still.

I was away for the last few weeks and yesterday, had the opportunity to use autopilot (not fsd) that defaulted to fsd. As soon as i activated AP, the car (MY) took over and changed lanes on its own. In one situation, it moved across 2 lanes as soon as the highway changed from 2 to 3 lanes highway, while there were quite a bit of traffic. And it did so in somewhat of an abrupt manner. This was definitely not what i expected and it was rather uneasy for both my wife and I. Needless to say, i switched back to the standard AP and won’t use fsb until it behaves better.

It works great it’s just abrupt in some cases. I’m sure it can easily be refined.

Not a fan of FSD yet. Two bad experiences. First was at freeway cloverleaf as I approached the sharp right turn of the cloverleaf FSD alarmed loudly and screen stated that something went wrong and it quit. There wasn't much traffic and it was sunny with good road markings, so?? Second was it wouldn't go when the right green arrow came on with main light remaining red. I had to push accelerator pedal myself.

I'd be disappointed if I just dropped $12K before the $99/mo. I got it for $6K in 2020 upon purchase and I have no complaints. I keep cars for EONS and I have low mileage since I travel (plane) a lot and work from home. I am VERY impressed with 12.3.4. I was so frustrate with version 11 I stopped using it altogether. What an improvement!

Gjeebs, you should try a test for the channel making white lines on you driveway (white tape? toilet paper? get creative) , or in you garage, or both and see if it will back in and park for you. Backing into your driveway automatically would be cool.

Thanks for the inspiring video. Always good to see people experiencing FSD for the first time. Very different when you are driving. But I 'Highly Recommend' you keep your hands touching the wheel. Bad idea to not always be ready to take over. I was hands-off for the first 70,000 miles of FSD, but when something odd happened on a 4-lane - two way street - FSD moved me 'quickly' to the turn lane and when the turn lane ended, I was in the oncoming traffic lane. Alway be vigilant!

How does it do at night? I would imagine it would be harder for it to see things at night... Would it see the construction, or the lines on the road?

We just got our second Model Y. We’re having fun with the FSD - 30 day free trial. Not sure yet if we’ll buy it at the end of the free trial.
@PandaMan027 ай бұрын
from the beginning of this video, i can tel you don't know how to shift into drive.. foot on the brake pedal, press the stalk ALL the way down ONCE, it is a two stage switch. FSD should engage with a single stage press of the stalk down unless you have a double press option turned on to engage it, which i do not believe is there for FSD.

We just have enhanced autopilot in Bangkok and my wife and I just hate it. Still does so many weird things on the highway. Slows to a crawl for bend in the road that others are cruising at 120km. It could care less there is someone In the slow lane ahead until, you have to slow first. Summon is ok as long as you only use to to adjust your parking near a curb or pull it out to get in. Letting drive around to pick you is asking for a trip to the body shop. Anyway, you guys know all this because we don’t have the latest software in Bangkok. So I’m excited to get it in Thailand so we can at least use the system that we pay for and have it not be so aggravating.

I have the trial version 12.3.6 and I do not like it. Mine has had numerous sketchy episodes happen that have been very unsafe. Mine seems to get confused at times when lane changes occur in traffic. In the city it hits the curbs if no parked cars are present; which is very strange. I have a 2018 Model S. Mine seems very glitchy and I have to take over many times.

I agree with the person that said it is 7 out of 10. But here in the Northeast, it’s still way too slow through stop sign intersections, and I only had one drive where I didn’t need an intervention. Yesterday, it almost rear ended my neighbor backing out of his driveway in front of a service van. For my wife and I it was clearly visible, but the car had no visibility and I had to step on the brake. I’ll also say that acceleration and braking tends to be too heavy, only to drive like a grandmother. It’s sort of a cross between a new driver and a grandmother. 😉. Unless I’m in traffic (which merges aren’t always perfect as well), generally after 5 or 10 minutes it just simply drives too slow, brakes too hard, tailgates, accelerates like an aggressive driver (only to drive under the speed limit in the left lane), make incorrect lane changes, and is not as smooth as a human (unless you are an Uber driver or NYC Taxi driver).

How about you make a video! Bet you won t!
@DarkWing4948 ай бұрын
If you tail gate you definitely have the settings wrong pick 4-5 or more in gap distance. Acceleration feel too heavy most likely because you(the person) don't know if it's clear to do so while the car does or the settings are on aggressive mode.

On to freeway/highway watch out for motorcycles passing you or cutting you off, Tesla will hard brake and the car behind you or following you might hit you. Happened to me a couple of times while on auto pilot. I think Tessie thinks it’s an emergency.
