Since I know you love when the members utilize literature as part of their inspiration... Back when they filmed In The Soop S1 in 2020, Yoongi borrowed a book from Namjoon called Almond: A Novel by Sohn Won-pyung and was seen reading it during filming. In short, its a triumphant story about how love, friendship and persistence can change a life forever. Much like in the lyrics for this song he says "The best choice, then the second best choice, third best choice" basically saying never give up, keep going, there's always a way to survive. In the MV, you can see how the pills turn into almonds in his hand. The almond, referencing the amygdala (an almond shaped area of the brain) which stores our fears, anxiety, trauma etc. I feel like the room Agust D is trapped in symbolizes the amygdala... you can't get rid of the memories, they are always a part of us... which is why he couldn't open the door and leave nor could the other version of himself save him. I do agree...this feels like a prequel of Agust D's origin story. I think he cut his face over his eye because he didn't want to see the painful memories anymore. I appreciate Yoongi's vulnerability and courage to share this with us.

I was worried about the same thing that you mention at the end. Will fans like the music that BTS will make after the military? And looking at the boys solo achievments I say: YES, TRUE ARMY WILL LOVE IT. Of course we will see "the fandom cleanse" but the most loyal fans for whom BTS's music, artistry, honesty and message are the most important things, will appreciate maturity, growth and musical development. Because ARMY are the fans of music in the first place. The solo projects are showing different sides of every member, each one of them is presenting his own musical colour what is great. But as the BTS themself said - they feel the best when they are together as 7. I think that we can expect more and more artistic input of each individual members in new music. Can't wait for 2025 when BTS will make a comeback :)

so true and since the last full album they made was like 2-3 years ago (not include proof) i can see that they have alot to say and express thru music after their military duties. BTS got all types of music both as a group and solo artist and im soo looking forward to what type of music they will bring for chapter 3 :)

I feel like the general ARMY would definitely except BTS when they come together and song about and make music about whatever they want because the music they make is very much show what they want to send to us. The solo projects have definitely been more vulnerable and personal, and we are happy that they are comfortable enough to share. And I personally believe that the sound they will have when they come back together as a working group will probably be different than the sounds we have heard before.

That was an interesting question you brought up about how fans will react if BTS starts making happier pop music as a group. I think ARMY is already used to such a wide variety of music from BTS. The members have always been pretty transparent about making music that reflects how they are feeling, both individually and as a group. When they release sad or serious music, we always ponder and listen. When they release happy and upbeat music we're happy for them. 💜 When Suga released That That with PSY last year it was definitely a surprise and a different style for him, but we all loved it because we could tell he was happy.

In Daechwita Low-class AgustD kills, King AgustD who was also a tyrant with a lot of psyc problems, and becomes king himself, it also is ancient times. After low-class AgustD became the new king he isn't a tyrant but he isn't necessarily good either, a corrupt mafia cop who values money and power a lot, and got it the hard way anyways. So, in haegeum, it's newer age and time. Suga who overcame a lot of his issues kills Lower class AgustD who is also the king/mafia now. So the plan is to attack places under him, steal his money and burn it, obviously Mafia loses his temper, and hunts him down but gets killed by Suga in the end. In Amygdala, Suga explained that this scar was made by his traumas. Daechwita King had a deeper scar, mafia cop had a faded scar. Suga has none, he overcame his past traumas. So overall it's about growth. So by killing AgustD, Suga, basically said: "My fan, my hommie, my fam don't worry, I'm really fine now damn"

Will the fans accept BTS when they get back together ? I think there will be great expectations for new music. I do wonder if the ARMY will accept the changes in the members. During this period, they will have had a radical change in their daily lives. The military experience as well as their solo experiences and the aging process, has to change them as people. Jin may not still be the goofy, Dad joke guy. RM may not have the same litney of responsibilities he had as a leader. All of the members may want to have more input into the creation of the group's music. The maturation of the nembers can alter the group dynamics...that is healthy. But the ARMY'S devotion is nit just that as music lovers. They have invested in these 7 men as people. I hope that ARMY doesn't demand that BTS remain the same boys but embraces them as the men the have become.

Also when they will reunite their sound matures with them as always... their skool series sounds different from hyyh which sounds different from wings, and love yourself, mots and BE! Hiya! I'm an ARMY who used to subscribe to this channel from the early BTS days and was even a member of your patreon for a while. And since you mentioned something in this video, I left both for a very specific reason and I would be curious as to other ARMY experiences if any are still here (or who just specifically search other this channel when there are new releases). Since you mentioned that you started getting negative comments, I wonder if you always thought it was like that during your BTS journey? I remember a time when you said you felt quite overwhelmed (in a positive way) toward the community interaction? And to be honest, the reason I left was that I noticed the community changing. I noticed it most during your livestreams at first. Other fandoms would get there super early and/or they'd be the ones will to pay and almost all of your request would be non-BTS. Now I don't begrudge anyone listening to other groups and whatnot, but it's something I've seen over and over. Like clock work, someone will build a community of ARMY, then start on other groups and when other fandoms come in, it's honestly usually hostile toward ARMY and BTS, so ARMY tends to leave. We don't stick around for disrespect. So basically I would posit that it's possible you caught a lot of multis/kpoppies and they are the majority of who made the BTS viewing experience negative. Yes, I know that people who claim they're ARMY can also be that way too, but we do have a lot of cosplayers and "I'm an ARMY but such and such group deserves more." Anyway that's really sad to see and hear about. You were so passionate about BTS and their mvs and their art and I remember watching the change in the community happen in real time. I hope you still get to enjoy BTS as much as you once seemed to, even if it's just on your own. Might get dogpiled for this, but it's something I really wanted to reply to from your reaction.

I personally think ARMY will support BTS when they get back together and be happy with the music. BTS music has never been superficial (besides maybe a couple) and even when they had solo or groups songs in their album they have been sharing themselves. Plus all the members have been elevating themselves and getting better and more open. BTS themselves have talked about how them releasing these solo album/singles and all their plans right now is to help all them gain more life experiences to be able to come together and made better music (and topics). Plus ARMY is very OT7 and can’t wait until all seven are together again.. P.S I personally think when they get back together they themselves will be even more involved with making their then they already did before.

Suga suffered traumas before & this song touches on them. After he was born he said his mom had a heart attack & had to have surgery, during his BTS training days he worked part-time for a delivery service where he had an accident that messed up his shoulder, but he didn’t say anything because he feared he’d be dropped from the group, so he suffered a lot of pain until in 2020 he finally had surgery & the last trauma he mentioned was his father’s liver cancer.

Suga once said that he hated it when people knew things about his private life. This song really shows that. I can't even imagine the pain he must have felt growing up knowing that his mother's health issues started the year he was born. I get why Augst D is a trilogy and why he was so angry in the past when relatives said he would ruin his family doing music. He has such a burden already but music was all he loved to do so he was under so much torment. He was made to feel like he would not be able to take care of his parents as time went along. " in my ears I could hear the sound of my mother's life ticking away" Damn a tear slipped down. Part of his loneliness was that he could tell anyone about his mother and father's health issues in a prison he built for himself. I am so glad he has music and songwriting to take it all in and let it all go. Snooze is my favourite song that made me cry first but this song.... I finally get who agust D is, he is someone that allows Suga and Yoongi to be is truest and rawest self. Agust D has fulfilled the mission, it is done.

The amygdala is an almond sized part of the brain that stores our trauma and often puts us on autopilot without understanding why we are reacting to events as they happen in real time. Our past memories that can sometimes control how we react to present situations. We may not even actually consciously remember these events that shape our fears. Suga has dugdown deep to clarify for himself the whys of his own depression, his thoughts of self harm, feelings of isolation, desperation. He has dug deep into his own psyche/memories and revealed those darkest moments to us. A truly remarkable young man who has used his talent/his music/his personal story to create an honest and rawly beautiful piece of art for us all.

The fandom of true ARMYs will never desert BTS. During this break they are finally able to experience a little of life as we know it in their individual travels, Ambassadorships & making music. Their individual solo albums give them an opportunity to express themselves personally and their time in the military will also give them more exposure & opportunities for storytelling once they come back together. For me, Yoongi is a musical & lyricist genius.
@lealarsen2017

i personally really enjoy this personal journey they are on. each of them has a unique style of music and ways of expressing themself. We already know a lot about the rappers because they always write their own lyrics for a bts song. and they have a specific way of writing. RM is poetic and Suga raw and direct. J-hope is kind of that wildcard you never know what will happen in his verse. but i almost always likes his verse the best because he rap so differently. but for the vocalists we don´t know much actually so it was a surprise when we heard about Jimin even if i already had an idea and i noticed how silent he was at the LA concert and he talked about being lonely and how he talked to people about it. but V and JK i dont really know much about their deep mental issues but i know they must have some. so i am really looking forward to that. i also think BTS will be different when they return. they talked a lot about this themself how they should be as a band. i think less dancing more emotional songs and deeper songs. adult themed. they also know that they are at that age where getting younger fans will be harder so they can speak to their older fans more freely. i also hope they wont be called a kpop band. i want them to be on their own and not in the same category because the music they do is so much more than just a happy dance song. like a hip group and a rock group in Korea is not the same category as idol groups even if they are still a group. idk what to call it. just artist i guess. that hype of always being on top and breaking records must be so tiering to them. i wish for them to do hat ever music they want because i know i will like it no matter what. they never let me down before.

While yes they do touch a lot about loneliness I think it’s good to remember Namjoon, jimin and Yoongi all talked specifically about the period during the pandemic in their albums. They had their whole world flipped around. We all did. So yes partially I’m sure their position comes w a lot loneliness, also literally the world situation aggravated that. Also, you probably came in at dyna and butter. But they have talked about personal real issues all along. Bc you are looking at it from hindsight it may not look like it. But they talked about the hate they got. They talked about school and nonconformity. They talked about pains of growing up. All those things were also personal at the time of their release. I think they absolutely needed this time to do whatever they wanted to tho. The only thing w group activities is compromise. They have 7 men with different stories. And that is hard to convey. But I believe they will find a way to make things work. And this is where this period comes in

I love both of your sincere feedbacks and discussions. I think at the 2022 festa BTS has had the talk about that each member would take some solo time and why this is important to them. I was thinking now is a great timing for them to do so since they talked about they were lost, and the overwhelming tours and busy schedules had drained them, if not physically, mentally for sure. They could not write music/lyrics because they did not know what to write about. As a new army who is attracted by their honesty and sincerity to their works, as a musician myself, I know how important is taking the time off and/or working on things which they personally want to do. It doesn’t have to be music, it can be acting, drawing, being a host or just doing nothing. Anything they want to do is fine. This will help them grow and when they are ready to come back, I believe it will be something different and amazing. A true army will support them anyway. So I suggest to watch their 2022 festa (or you may have reacted to?😅)

thank you guys for reacting to yoongi’s amygdala. this is a b-side but it’s such a meaningful song. this also ties in with daechwita and haegeum where yoongi tells his story and what he’s gone through in the last 10 years. listening to this and then reading the translation (the english subs on the MV and then the fans’ translations)… this is both so beautifully written and heart-achingly sad at the same time. yoongi really does know how to tell a story through his songs. and i’m so proud of him for being so courageous in sharing this with his fans and the rest of the world when he could have chosen not to. and also thank you, you guys are some of the people who truly understand from a songwriter-producer’s POV in using autotune. it IS a choice. and in both yoongi’s and jimin’s songs, it was the right choice (imo, because i’m no expert) in adding that something extra to convey or put more emotion into their songs. those other people just /don’t/ get it or refuse to understand it. bts venturing out onto their own paths as soloists, for me, is honestly something that they need to do. they’ve been together for more than a decade and have never really worked and created their own music or done their own thing. excluding the stuff they’ve released on their soundcloud, each of them have never really done something on their own. it’s actually very nice to /see/ and /hear/ what their individual styles are with their solo work. and when all seven of them have finally released their solo albums (i have a feeing that jin will release his album after his enlistment) it would be interesting to see how they would sound together and what kind of songs they write as a group and then release in 2025. oh and i’m excited for you guys and congrats on getting tickets to yoongi’s tour! i couldn’t get tickets cause there’s no stop in my country and the ones nearest mine are all sold out too~ but anyway, i hope you guys have fun and enjoy!

I'm quite sure he self-harmed at some point, I can't forget that verse in 'The Last' where he opened up about going to a psychiatrist, and the long censoring monotone beep to the question that was asked "Have you ever ---------". At that point most people were speculating it was the doctor asking about this, and in the song he replied 'unhesistantly, I said I did it'. That was his first mixtape. Keeping that in mind, this song and mv just made so much more sense to me personally. The pen knife in his hands and the self inflicted injury. There was also a split black&white second where you can see a knife falling onto the ground in the mv. There is nothing 'scripted' in this video, he was reliving and portraying all his personal traumatic experiences, so imagine why he chose to include that scene. It would've been too much, too straight forward and too vulnerable to actually show the actual action, so I guess this is the way he chose to show it, symbocally. Also, him finding his mom on the ground, his accident, the pills (whether it was antidepressants or pain killers for his shoulder), him agonizing in a basketball court as the sun sets (He talked about this part of his past before in 2015), the surgery lights that he saw while lying down. I cannot imagine what he went through

I can't think of another song/MV that's so anxiety inducing yet so compelling at the same time. While the subject matter does some of that, the production does a lot of the heavy lifting -- some of those harmonies are on a frequency that is tripping the flight side of my 'fight or flight' instinct. And it's got to be partly those variations in the chords that you're talking about. I don't have a good enough ear to pick out specifics but I know our brains pick out patterns and subconsciously start expecting certain things to happen in sequence. When they don't, we're unsettled. It's definitely working on me! I think I'll listen/watch this sparingly; I don't want to become used to its effect.

Uhm... But BTS discography is plenty of not "singing and dancing stuff". I don't know, isn't this kind of judgmental take? Didn't Yoongi also release Like That with PSY? AMYGDALA. This song. This video…This just cracked wide open My darkest thoughts ive been suppressing cuz i needed to be fine..i had to.. I needed to move forward.. But lingering thoughts creeps and leaks in every now and then.. feeling of regrets and feeling of despair and guilt still lies deep in my mind and this song summarizes that very complex feeling…My heart feels heavy. I still remember vivdly those sleepless nights at the hospital w my grandma to one day waking up losing her to cancer .. Catching a full grown man my granddad having a major stroke Taking the Difficult decision to work abroad leaving my sick granddad and family. And having to come home to Resuscitate him and ultimately decide to stop and to let him go… Trauma.. painful memories.. . We will never know fully what anyone went thru personally but for yoongi to share these deepest thoughts thru this masterpiece. Hope he knows how this will comfort others who are suffering too. #Amygdala #Amygdala_MV #D_Day #AGUSTD #To_Suga

We all knew why he was getting the shoulder surgery. He had mentioned the accident in a couple songs previously and talked about in one of the concert movies. You can even see his animation in "We are bulletproof: The Eternal" grasping his shoulder.

I love your reaction!!! As always!!! Negative comments are fking not cool. I don’t understand why some people are like that. I get that we as army are extremely protective of BTS, I completely understand that cause I am for sure…. But leaving negative shitty comments doesn’t reflect well on us and is definately not how all of army are and I don’t honestly get it. You guys are doing an awesome job! I love your videos! You are both very cool.. also, the amygdala is a part of the brain that deals with trauma. No doubt many comments have already said this, but I still thought I’d put it out there 💜💜💜 btw Suga is AMAZING!!! As are all of the BTS members 😍💜 Oh sorry last thing, you should definately check out Suga’s newest episode of Suchwita with RM (R-chwitcha 😂) cause Suga explains everything about his albums, Agust D and this being an end of Agust D - big sad, but so happy cause he is the happiest and most content I’ve ever seen him. I also read a comment that said something about Agust D being locked in the room at the end of this mv signifies that Suga is moving on, and I like that explanation 💜

Hi guys , thanks so much for this reaction . I was fascinated by the beats your pointed out and you producing expertise . Suga ended up walking through a door at his 28th concert in Seoul . I enjoyed watching his lyrical journey for this album. in Disney plus entitled D-Day. I hope you guys keep going with BTS and solo careers because just as the guys song says ‘The best is yet to come ‘ Borahae BTS ❤you guys are both ‘hot’ lol just saying .

I'm not just going to accept the music they make as a group when they come back together, I'm really excited about it. Jimin and Suga lit up at the idea - and they both said they don't know what it will be like, because they're all going to have tried new things and developed new skills. I do love that they're telling us their personal stories and finding new sides to their voices, but I also loved the narrative arcs of previous albums. Very few of their songs are meaningless. It feels like you're aiming a much larger percentage of their discography is Dynamite than is actually true 😁 things don't have to be profound to be telling a story. I'm sure they'll bring new ideas and be excited to try new things, and that the big conversations will be about deciding what story they want to tell next. There might be some silly dance songs along the way, that's fine. It won't be most of what they're doing. 😁

People, don't talk nonsense! THESE ARE BTS! If you don't know their work, don't tell me they sing children's songs! They have always made serious music, quality, with deep meaning! The questions that they raised in your individual albums and songs, we have already heard them! The whole fandom knows about Suga's suicide attempt , we were just waiting for him to sing it! For any true fan, this is nothing new! It's the same with every other member - we know that Hobi is a complex person, not just a happy boy, we know that RM is a poet, not just a rapper! I suggest you start listening to their old albums and read the lyrics to realize it! I suggest you read the text of ON because in this song have a part of all these individual songs! But stop looking at BTS as just another boy group with fandom with squealing girls, because they never were! Fandomite has also always been of smart and intelligent young people! If you love, don't underestimate any of them!

You got me to subscribe on this first look at your channel, clinched it when you flashed your BTS tattoo, but mostly really for your discussion showing your appreciation as fellow artists. As for accepting what comes when they come back together, it would be silly and honestly, disappointing, if they just slide back into their old style. They are way too creative for that box, and personally, I am ready for any direction they want to go, at any pace they choose. Together, individually, no one else compares with their genuine messages and creations. I’m happy I found them and will literally support them for life. Arts beat charts.

Oh thank god!! I was beginning to think I was going insane. You caught the same musical phrase where it reminded me of something from the very early 1970s/Beatles. I can't place exactly what it is. And, strangely enough, it actually makes me feel uncomfortable/disturbed/separated. A misplaced song/memory from the past.

Personalmente aun me gusta su música como BTS i don't lisent too often to their very pop songs but the others i do lisent a lot. I was always curious what stories each member had because is true, you can’t see it very often in the group when one or two has more presence in the song or one just do the choir. With the sólo albums we are seeing more of their personality, their sound, their individual story, and the most important each one are geting more involved in all the process, so they can actually see their weaknesses and strengths to improve. I believe when they come back it be different they'll be stronger, i hope we can have an album fully made by them and i don't think they do many choreographies as before, they will focus more on the songs and will be more free. Well that's what i believe but who knows.

did you get personal heat for speaking your mind on a song? or was it people dissing the song you are reacting too? because when you do multiple kpop group reactions. fans are bound to meet and hate on eachother. that´s why i mostly do BTS only channels. low toxic fans and more loyal and kind people. those i followed have only had positive comments. so it may be because those are not real army´s. they just say they are and then they say alot of bad stuff they live on twitter too. Army is only loud when there is a good reason for it.

If there is any negative comments. They are not true Army. True Army should love the boys no matter their choices. This is their music and if you don’t like it that is fine but being negative is wrong. I want them to grow and be happy in all they do. I’m just happy knowing they are making music. 😊💜😊💜😊💜😊💜

For the negative comments, I don't know what the case is here, but the yt algorithm is hiding a lot of BTS-related videos, reactions included. This is one of the reasons why a lot of yt reaction videos get fewer stats than before, and many solo stans are lurking and searching for something to be negative about... Thank you for the reaction, and I hope you know that ARMY accepts constructive criticism and different opinions. Unfortunately, there are a lot of loud people with anti-ARMY behaviour that "shine" more in recent days.

I wouldn't say there is that much difference between solo projects and BTS pojects regading deep matters vs enjoyable matters. If you compare percentages of both matters in their solo albums and in their group albums, I would even say there is a bigger porcentage of deep matters mostly in BTS projects actually. Just less specific (and therefore less deep in the personal/individual sense), for example we wouldn't have Suga talking about his dad's cancer, despite we do have him speaking of feeling extreme fear after suceeding - which they all share. Or we have Jhope talking about internet anger as a potential trigger to suicide in group songs but it's only in solo projects where we have him speaking of self doubt regarding his own persona
