Im full Army always will be, but Big Bang is very very impressive. Their live performances are outanding , their vocals are just amazing and do need to be heard live they have great stage presence. They definitely have some ballads like Last Dance and If You , are great songs . Loser is an amazing song as well so yeah worth checking more of big bang out.

Still Life is full of meaning for fans. It is also a reply to their promise to return, made in their last single before military service, called Flower Road (in fact TOP had already gone to the military at this point.) Military service was 2018/20. They were booked for Coachella in 2020 - but it was cancelled because of Covid-19. PLEASE REACT TO: G Dragon's recently released cover of Elvis Presley's song, I can't help falling in love with you. Important to watch the one on the Official G Dragon channel, as it is the only one that has the mv directed by Baz Luhrmann who also directed the recent Elvis film.

As a fan this is a very emotional song for me. If you knew and saw how hard their journey is individually, some things i don’t want to speak about and one member had legal issues.... I am just glad that they are still breathing thus STILL LIFE. The lyrics assigned to them feels like their very own message to the fans and to themselves.

GD (rainbow hair) and taeyang (sparkly shaggy drake?) trained as kids to be a hip-hop RnB duo. GD was initially disappointed to debut as a Kpop group. Their first songs are actually very RnB. TOP (rabbit mask) was rapping in clubs as a late teen and was overweight so he was told to lose weight before he can join as a trainee. he said he didn't know how they could be an idol group when they don't sound and look the same. They can't even move the same - their group choreos are so much simpler than others because TOP is usually asynchronous with the others lol. Anyway. New sb19 fan here and an old BigBang fan. Bigbang sound sooo good live - my favorites off the top of my head are Haru Haru, Cafe, zutter (live versions). With subtitles if available.

"Still Life" is BigBang' newest song that was just released in April, their first comeback in almost 4 years. The first time they came back as a group since being discharged from the military and going through several major life changing events. It's a new chapter in all of their lives. Taeyang got married right before he enlisted and his wife and him just had a baby boy in December, so the group dynamic is changing and evolving just like the ever changing seasons. In the MV each of the members represent a different season. I see "Still Life" as a continuation of the theme within their previous comeback "Flower Road" from 2018, which was a final farewell before they took a long hiatus to allow the members to all serve in the military. It was released after T.O.P had already enlisted and right before G-Dragon and Daesung enlisted. Although we are excited that they finally made a comeback, if you pay attention to the lyrics in "Still Life" it's almost as if this is actually a goodbye song. They fulfilled their promise to VIPs that they would greet us again after they were discharged, but does that mean they will continue as a group? We just have to wait and see.

The rabbit on the moon is the companion of a goddess in Asian folklore. It apparently pounds the elixer of life for her but in Korea is pounds rice, mochii. It's a moon rabbit or jade rabbit It's also apparently American Mayan which I didn't know

I think what's most melancholic about this whole song, mood, vibe, aesthetic is that it marked an end of an era for the group. They haven't officially disbanded but they're all doing their own thing, and especially after one of them got arrested for soliciting prostitution amongst other charges. TOP has also hinted a couple of times here and there about potentially not returning to the music scene. I think GD and Taeyang will always be around as solo artists, and I'd hope that's the case for Daesung. We're also unsure if they'll ever return with music again as a group. And they're not quite kids. I believe the average age in the group is around 35. They really turned the tables for k-pop and paved the way for other Korean pop artists. I'm sad.

This was great! And yes, while bigbang is definitely better known for their club bangers in the west, they're equally as well known for their ballads in korea. Other ballads you might want to check out are Loser, If You, and Fool of Tears. Mid-tempo songs that show off their vocals include Love Song, Cafe and Tell Me Goodbye (the last two are much, much better live than recorded. To be clear all bigbang songs are better live than recorded haha but those two really stand out - check out Cafe MADE tour in Seoul and Tell Me Goodbye Dome Tour X for the best versions).

More than the vocals and the video, what makes this song particularly beloved is its message. The group went on a long hiatus because, yes, some did go to the military, but also because near the end of their service, their 5th member got into a major scandal. Some time after, another of their members got into another scandal. I won't go into the details but they laid low for a while for these reasons. The message of their song is especially heartbreaking because it reflects on the time they were away but gives hope for a brighter future. Some of them sing more ballad-like songs for their solos. I like Taeyang's Eyes, Lips, Nose the best, especially the version on the show Fantastic Duo.

Big Bang has been through a lot since they debuted and this song was an homage to all the VIP's (fan name) who stuck with them through it all. I've been following them since 2009 and will never forget the impact they made in my life (saw them in concert when they came to the US). G-Dragon holds the most royalties in songs on that side and they broke records whenever they had a comeback, some other groups even tried to plan their releases around BigBang because they didn't want their releases to flop. All in all, kings of Kpop and this song is them saying while Big Bang is no longer making music as 5 members, they will always be Big Bang and there's somewhat of a 'Still Life' painting of them to remember them by.

One ballad they have is “Loser,” which also showcases their vocals and each member’s different style. And although they exhibit a variety of styles (rap, hip hop, even rock) in their discography, this song reflects maturity and evolution, it seems. The lyrics seem more pensive, and maybe even distant from a time once lived. They also seem more comfortable not having to be so flashy, and just allow their inner energy and personalities to carry natural swag. (I’m not sure how to say it.) The beat, the music, and visuals aren’t “hard hitting” in-your-face. Their signature dancing and choreography- and they’re the masters of it, they’re OG - are non-existent. Totally unexpected, especially when that is now what’s super big. Totally unexpected, especially as a comeback. It’s surprising, but pleasantly so. It’s refreshing and shows how established they are (and confident and comfortable) to not have to feel like they have to. They’re subdued, and it works well to carry that pensive, distant mood and to showcase their natural, inherent coolness. I wasn’t expecting this style, but am impressed. 🐲🐉

Just watched this ... sorry so late ... I am sure you know now that the RABBIT has significance in culture... in fact this is the year of the Rabbit. Also, the "Rabbit on the other side of the moon" (aka Moon Hare) is also beautifully symbolic in Asian culture. Kinda long to explain here, but look it up. Trivia: T.O.P. ( in the rabbit costume on the moon) is on the list to go on the upcoming trip to the moon. Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa on SpaceX's Starship spacecraft announced the crew.
