I doubt people will switch to mono But its great you should try some hard catches and see if its absorbing the ball....then you will see if you get any breaks, as well as stick checks.. but performance mesh and fishing line use similar fibers..

So the fishing line seems to be okay for face offs, but how well do you think it would hold up in say a fast break scenario off a face off where its like a give and go? Do you think the string would snap with passes over time or a hard pass?

You should try Spectra or Dyneema (any UHMWPE) line. Its primarily used in rigging. I have some 1.5mm diameter (regular sidewall is 1.58mm or 1/16") That is rated for 800 lbs. It only stretches 3.5% compared to 18-25% with nylon, doesn't break down in UV light (like kevlar) stronger than steel by weight. I'd imagine that the set up on this video would tear your sidewalls pretty quick. I'll probably restring an old head but seeing as i'm 10 yrs removed from playing or stringing heads, nor do i have a youtube page, I think you should try it out. I know this video is a few years old but the only thing i can find online of someone else coming even close to what i'm suggusting.
