This is often overlooked... Many years ago, before tire truers became popular or even available in this scale, I had started to use 19mm front wheels to increase clearance between the wheel and the body. By using the smaller wheel, I was able to achieve the same ride height that I wanted while removing the shims under the knuckle. This increased the clearance considerably above the wheel to body, and allowed me to use some bodies with low front end clearance effectively. F40, F50, F355... I also shave down the inside of the headlight buckets anywhere that it could contact the wheel when turned. Some bodies like the 350z style, and 787, the wheels can come quite close. Now with tire truers prevalent, the need for the smaller wheel is no longer essential. They are a tuning tool rather than a necessity, since I use the same outside tire diameter regardless of the wheel. If I want a little more lateral grip, I can use a 19mm wheel rather than a 20 to increase tire profile, and heat/sidewall bite. Generally, that would only be useful for low grip circuits these days. Even beyond checking for the tire contact on the body, check the spur gear and suspension points. Because the Kyosho bodies are designed around a center shock and disc damper, some may not have proper clearance for side shocks. I often build my GLR cars with the lexan post mount so that I can easily add side posts to mount bodies without needing to disassemble the car... however, this often conflicts with the body... On some cars, I use the side posts in addition to the standard Kyosho clips to secure the body without needing tape. I still utilize the standard front body mounts most of the time. When fitting the body, before attaching any side clips and windows, place the body on the car... and get a visual of where there may be conflicts. Then use tire tape to hold the body clip to body, and test fit again and raise and lower the body slightly to see where the clearance is good. Once you do this a few times, mark where to attach the side clips... You may need to modify the body where the clips attach if you want the body lower than standard... but always check that the wheels or suspension will not interfere with the body before gluing.
