@@Trains21 the DTI SD38s "RARELY" left Michigan. If I remember,, I only saw 2 in Ohio. DTI was an efficient operation. always a treat back then to see DC6,DC7,DC8,DC9. trackage rights agreements made DTI appear in many locations.--off the DTI system.

One of the coolest sd38 I ever saw I had a pentrex railroad documentary on the short lines of Arizona and there's a copper-mine that uses railroads to move around there copper ore and that Railroad it has a gray and copper paint scheme that is badass it has Chevron stripes on the nose that are copper this was back in the 80s early 90s I think when this documentary was filmed I've never seen too many sd39 and those ones in Arizona look awesome it's been so many years since I've seen that documentary I can't even remember the name of the railroad if I find out what it is I'll let you know peace out AC have a great day

Trains21 thank you for your tangents I love it when you show us all these different paint schemes on locomotives that's half the fun with diesel locomotives at least is the paint scheme that they wear one thing I miss about the locomotives in the 70s and the 80s was the Dual headlights like Rio Grande or Southern Civic or they had the lights by the number boards an oscillating lights and the lights on the nose and how search Civic had the emergency red light with the two headlights underneath it even back in the day like Nickel Plate Road used to have the double headlights set up with the oscillating headlights I've even seen some images of Seaboard coastline had some locomotives like that I miss the oscillating LED lights and the double headlight kit I like the way it used to be what the oscillating lights instead of ditch lights they were so much cooler something I love about watching railfan videos from the past there is freight trains with no spray paint tags I can't stand this gibberish that they spray paint on the side of train cars it's repulsive when I look at old school train videos there's no tags I wish that's the way trains were today peace out AC have a great day

Very interesting! G26C (export model of SD38) is used in my country for heavy freight dragging. Very reliable locomotives, seems the roots blown prime mover is more reliable roaring in run 8 all day long.

Wonder how many times I've seen the 2003 running auto parts through Lansing, Mi. Grew up in the 70s and 80s with a view of the Conrail spur running up to the Diamond Reo plant. After the vacant plant burned in the early 80s, had a clean view of the Grand Trunk line on the other side. By the mid 80s, alot of DT&I were mixed in with the power. Sometimes, some C&NW also. Use to see 4-5 engines on a train quite often. Miss the old red white and blue.

The SD38s are great locos. They look good, and have an unmistakable chatter when in notch 8. Kind of a shame 2003 lost it's special paint job, but the horn it wears now sounds mighty fine! As a bit of a fun fact, the SD38s have Australian cousins called J26Cs. They were purchased by the New South Wales Government Railways as the 422 Class in 1969, and most are still in service today. While the 422 Class locos look nothing like SD38s they are mechanically identical.

Normally I don't like the commercials that you have to sit through before the video starts, but I just saw a preview of a new movie and I watched the whole thing because it was that good. No guarantee that the movie will be great, sometimes the preview is better than the movie, But this stars Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfried and they are both really great It is called You Should Have Left Comes to on demand on the 19th Normally I would not post like this, but the preview looks awesome If the movie is as good, you really want to see this A thriller and horror movie of some sort and they don't give anything away, but it looks amazing and I want to see it having just seen the preview. Love trains and your videos are wonderful ❤️ I am in Quakertown and I am disabled and stuck in bed 99% of the time KZbin is my way of seeing the places and doing the things that I can no longer do because of my health. I know how much work it is. I used to film trains in the Mechanicville NY area 2 decades ago, before smartphones I lost all my mini digital tapes when I had to move to assisted living facility I am out of those awful places now, fighting to stay at"home" in my trailer I am grateful for your hard work showing me the outside world
