Anyone know the top speed for these sorts of things? Could operate as a nice little passenger route between rural communities 😂

I go there every year and I absolutely love it, I go there with my uncle, grandma, my mam and sometimes my dad. My uncle would bring his little V3 locomotive. My grandad absolutely loved it there, I hope he looks down and watches next time I go

The thumbnail looks quite realistic apart from the gigantic man sitting on the engine haha XD

I have driven the engine on the thumbnail it is called seagull and is a 5 inch gauge a4 built to works drawings.

4 gauges? what are they?
@kirbyyork4255 жыл бұрын
Impressive how these guys can actually build miniature steam locomotives that are strong enough to carry the weight of 1 or possibly more full scale human beings. I’d love to own and operate 1 of these little 7.5 gauge railways in my own yard with many original/rebuilt versions of the Bulleid Pacifics Merchant Navy and Battle of Britain/West Country classes.

Another terrific demonstration of fine scale model engineering locos and rolling stock. Can someone tell me the source of the rolling stock?
@stuartcambell-frazer88633 жыл бұрын
I really love the attention to detail on these loco's . Just one thing though, there is a diesel on here that I have never seen before, black with eight driving wheels and red connecting rods. Can someone please tell me what this is? Other than that, I just love this video.
@ukmodelengineering3 жыл бұрын
@Stuart Cambell-Frazer, the locomotive you mentioned is a British Rail 10100 which was an unusual experimental diesel locomotive known informally as The Fell Diesel Locomotive.

Also why was there a guy watering the track?
@alexanderuthoff97735 жыл бұрын
I could imagine that there was some ash that was dropped out of one of the engines. Since the weather conditions seemed quite hot the guy probably extinguished any spots that could have caused a fire.
@bobcooper65285 жыл бұрын
putting out a small fire?
@ukmodelengineering5 жыл бұрын
The reason the track was being watered is not due to fire risk. It was a very hot weekend and the expansion joints had fully expanded and the track was at risk of buckling so the watering was an attempt to cool the track so it would contract.
@bobcooper65285 жыл бұрын

Is it any wonder that the railways lost goods traffic to roads? Those 4 wheel goods wagons are so small, why where larger cars not adopted earlier in the U.K?
@almostkentish30425 жыл бұрын
Because why spend money building one new, 8 Wheel wagon when you can use two existing 4 wheel wagons and save the time and money?
