As much as I like Cory, him being there with Naya just reminded me of the characters they depict on Glee (as GLAAD is all about representation on TV afterall) and so I don't think it was appropriate he was there with Naya because it just reminds me of the highly offensive episode 7 season 3 of Glee 'I Kissed a Girl' , in which the show clearly sent a message that outing people is okay and in which they continued to take Santana's own voice away from her throughout the episode after her being outed, in which she had to be 'saved' by the cis White straight jock. As well as a number of other transgressions in that episode that did not contribute to good LGBT+ representation. So their choice of hosts was inappropriate. Glee should be really ashamed of itself for creating and broadcasting I Kissed a Girl.

Oh hooold up. I don't think it was rude to call those two out to present this award. Can you picture a show that had inclusion as it's main subject as Glee had? Of course we have a lot of shows that 1 or 2 people are LGBT and most of those portraits them dealing with alcohol and drugs which totally end up not talking about those things that really matter. We could name Modern Family and Glee as the most descents ones, I've seen some episodes of MF but it doesnt show more than a matured and already lived couple that doesnt have to deal with much problems about their sexuality anymore, since they are already adults with a supportive family. On the other hand, Glee worked for the teens, which have more suicidal tendencies than the adults, and it surely helped this conversation to get to the families couch. Finn outed Santana because he was scared of her taking her own life. I can agree it wasnt a thoughtful decision but I won't throw a shoe at this show that has done a lot for the comunity.

I agree that a lot about the episode and the Finn-outing-Santana storyline was offensive and poorly done. I don't think we can blame the actors, however, and Naya Rivera and Cory Monteith were good friends in real life. So I think it was okay for them to host together. But, yes, the episode should have been done differently. If they really wanted Finn to do something as stupid as outing Santana, then they should have eventually had him realize what a mistake he made. They should have let Santana take charge. As it was, Finn never apologized because he refused to admit that he'd even done anything wrong and he belittled Santana's feelings and fears regarding the whole thing. He may have been genuinely worried about Santana's safety, as he later claimed, but that doesn't change the fact that he went about things all wrong and in fact put her in MORE danger.
