Yeah I’ve done really well this past year working a couple East-west streams here in Ohio. Looking forward to more videos. Take care and stay safe and gold luck and heavy pans.

Can you please make a video on the laws in PA? What is all allowed for recreational prospecting in PA and where? As well as what is allowed and where with a prospecting permit? Ppl seriously need to know these things. Also if you do this please provide links or screenshots so ppl have protection while doing this. Thank you, very informative content, well done.

I usually avoid stating laws out right as they change often and differ sometimes from county to county. That being said PA is not my area of expertise when it comes to prospecting laws. Panning and sluicing is generally fine in public waterways. But I’ve never heard of anyone getting a permit for anytype of motorized prospecting, mainly cause the state just runs you circles cause they don’t know what youre talking about.

Is this same for Scotland , it makes sense . Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge with me . Wow I should have listened carefully to my geology teacher ,instead I locked him in his room lol . Arrrrrr yep I screwed up . I hate moving overburden butt it holds gold, so i dredge the lot . Cheers from Scotland and the pirate dredger ☠👍👍👍⛏💙

If Scotland was covered by continental glaciers then there should be similarities. Though I believe Scotland actually has hard rock gold mines. So gold wouldn’t have been pushed there by the glaciers. But in streams running perpendicular to the glaciers flow old placers may have been preserved where as in streams running in the same direction of the glaciers flow any placers older then the glaciers would have been destroyed by them. Thanks for watching!

Virginia creeks sure do spoil the prospector. Lol. Keep up the good work on proving your theory.

You want to find the south to north flows in the heavy till path. Depending on the country rock you will have shallow bedrock and heavy concentration

In this area everything says that N-S flowing creeks and rivers have been carved very deep. And also for Maine and the Vermont’s any placers that pre date the glaciers would have been destroyed in N-S rivers and creeks. And preserved on E-W ones. I’ll have to email you my source doc it’s an interesting read that can be extrapolated to Maine and the Vermont’s.

@@theprospectinggeologist4347 I can tell you from years of experience in new England that north flows are your best options the south flows are very very deep "like the Connecticut " but there are not alot of north flowing creeks to work. The west flow creeks are very good. I'd be interested in combining our knowledge in the area next summer. Host rock makes a big difference atleast in my areas.

Interesting i wonder why north flowing ones would have shallower bedrock. And yes I’d love to get up to Maine for two weeks next year.

@@theprospectinggeologist4347 elevation and country rock make the differences . The original height and density of certain areas retained structure more then others some were actually reversed

thats illegal
@theprospectinggeologist43472 жыл бұрын
What’s illegal? Gold prospecting is legal in both PA and Ohio with the difference between the two states being the type of recreational equipment that you can use.
