Thanks for the video brother, it made changing the stem very easy. Have the same kitchen faucet, I think model #209-442, but did the hot water stem. I didn't know the stem model #, but just matched it up with the one I took out. For anyone else doing this, the hot water stem is Danco 3S-15H, and the cold stem is Danco 3S-15C. It worked perfectly, and had no issues. Got a good laugh from your out take comment "probably should of waited before I drank". Thanks again.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to show others how to change this faucet cartridge. I have the same Glacier Bay unit and went to Home Depot to see about getting a part and they were no help at all. So believe me when I say you really helped me understand what I needed and now will be able to fix it myself. Oh by the way, I really liked your rooster back ground sound. It is better than music. It took me back to my youth when growing up on a farm. Thanks

My hot water side doesn't shut the water off. It's not leaking just can't shut off. Home depot sucks for warranty information, I only had this faucet for a month. Good thing you're on here and have the same faucet. Thanks for the help. I'll post once I fix it.

Thanks. I have a tidbit for those that cannot get the water to stop flowing after installing a new cartridge. If you edit this video, add a small extra tip about retightening the housing. I made the mistake of not tightening it quite enough, scared I was pushing it too hard. Turns out that if the housing assembly is not pressing down hard enough on the cartridge, the thing will not work. No matter which direction you turn it in the water runs near full speed. Here is the trick. After putting the cartridge in, reinstall and finger tighten the housing as best you can, then apply the wrench to it for a limited amount of turning resistance. Now, turn the water shutoff valve back on, just enough to know you have water running. Make sure you have the new cartridge turned to the off position and start tightening some more. As you tighten, the water flow should start to diminish. Keep tightening till it is close to stopping and let it settle for a couple minutes. If it is still running a bit, give the housing just a little more of a turn and it should pretty much shut off any remaining water drips. Then you can test by returning the water shutoff valve back to the normal full flow position and retest your new cartridge for any residual drip by turning it on and off again. Adjust as needed but only enough to make the water stop. Overtightening will damage the threads. One other issue I encountered was that I was working with a Glacier Bay faucet unit for which the hot water side had a slightly off axis threading. So, when I reinstalled the housing over the cartridge to thread it on, the only way I could get it on was to honor the off axis thread, which also resulted in some extra resistance as I tightened it to the bottom. I know that I did not mechanically explain that very well, but the only reason I knew something was off was by comparing the hot side to the cold side.

Very helpful video, except for one aspect: my Glacier Bay faucet which looks very similar, had no set screw in the handles. I was reluctant to just pry the handle off with a screwdriver, but since I was at the point with nothing to lose, I got two slim blades under opposite sides and the handle popped off quire easily. After that, finding the correct cartridge was the only challenge. Home Depot nor any of the local building supply stores had anything remotely close. I found one online that looks similar, but I'm reluctant to order based on a poor quality photo.

Thanks! I have the same faucet. I was nervous as the little plastic piece that wasn't included with your replacement cartridge was broken on my faucet. When using water pump pliers, you should use them correctly as to not damage the surface. They grip one way and release the opposite way. And always put the stopper in the sink drain before starting repairs. Less chance you'll have of losing small parts down the drain!

Hey Matthew, sorry for the delay! looking back at this old video made me cringe! I used a good HD camera but it was terrible for close up work. I can't believe I didn't include all of the steps.
