Excellent instructions. My plumber knew that some faucets have a temperature regulator but I don't think he understood how to fix it on the Glacier faucet, and I didn't think to check KZbin until he had already left. It's the spare bathroom and I never needed it until now, and I couldn't stand the thought of taking showers in tepid water. WTH was Glacier thinking when they did this? Anyway, thank you so much, you explained everything thoroughly, including that little grey piece that had me puzzled. 😃

I can't thank you enough for this. I bought a house a couple of years ago and have taken lukewarm showers the past two winters b/c the faucet wouldn't go up past the middle. I've had a million other things to fix so that was far down on my list to look into/fix. 2020 was enough of a pain in my rear that I couldn't take it anymore so I looked for a video and found yours. Now cold showers won't be something I have to deal with anymore! 😁😁 Happy New Year. God bless!

After seeing this, my plumber is fired. He replaced the water heater and all the faucets in the house. I asked him about several things relating to the shower faucet including the fact that the flow is weak. Unfortunately, at the time I did not notice the shower water wasn't getting as warm as that in the kitchen and bathroom sink which nearly 130 degrees (no kids.) When he checked it out, he said he need to turn up the temperature on the water heater. I thought his assessment was strange. I'm a first-time homeowner so I am naive to such I didn't question his profession nor expertise. But I remember while living in an apartment, the shower faucets were replaced with single levers. I didn't give the maintenance man time to punch the clock the water was cold. He did something fancy with the shower faucet and then I had hot water. I'm tempted to fix it myself but I have very little confidence. I'll watch this again. Thank you.
@salsapete21325 жыл бұрын
myaification, if you want to save money lower your water heater back to 120 degrees otherwise your water heater will frequently turn on which is one of the most costly appliances in your home along with the Ac / heater, Dryer, stove/ oven and pool pumps. It is very simple to do just follow the video and safeguard all screws and parts, you should be fine.

@salsapete21323 жыл бұрын
Yes the inner red adjust how much hot water you allow to your exterior shower valve. They must have had a lot of complaints in previous years so I believe by default during manufacturing and quality control they set extremely low to STA themselves but give very to no appropriate instructions on how to correct the issue. I am sure many owners have either hired a plumber or removed and returned the product. Or like me grinned and bearded it quickly during a nesasary shower.

misaza26 Curious was this the problem? So far over 20 said yes since my post. If so Glacier bay needs to correct this at the manufacturing quality control point. There could be numerous unnecessary returns as well as very good Plummer’s who may have customers due to this issue.

when im unscrewing the lever my shower starts running water, what does that mean?
@salsapete21324 жыл бұрын
it may mean that the faucet is in an open position or there is residual water in the lines. it is best prior to unscrewing the allen wrench below. make sure it is in the off position. unscrewing will take place under the faucet. if you shut off the main it will not matter. if a washer or o ring is kinked or mis applied this can also cause a leak. If that is the case you may have to call upon a professional plumber or someone with great knowledge in plumbing. Good luck , Try to re trace your steps and hopefully you can discover what may be the problem. God Bless
