Great footage. The guy who filmed this had a flash of panic when he saw how big the wave was and how fast it was travelling. He looked around and was comforted by the sight of zombie tourists who were oblivious to the danger they were in and happily taking pictures.

The calving of glaciers are actually extremely common (relatively speaking) regardless of whether the globe is 'warm' or not. Glaciers are constantly moving- eventually, they tend to reach a point where it becomes too warm for them to keep going. More ice forms on the other end of the glacier- thus moving this front end forward in an endless cycle of addition and subtraction

Glaciers have been "calving" long before humans came along and will continue long after we're gone--IF we don't totally destroy the world before then. The planets in our Solar System are all heating up---and, as far as I can tell there's no SUVs on Jupiter or Venus.

***** The Ozone layer depleting isn't a theory, its a proven observed fact. And no Ozone layer means more radiation from the sun. I'm no tree hugger, but the stubbornness and denial that people have regarding our contribution to global warming is astounding. Do you really think that the millions of tons of crap we pump in to the sea and air has no effect on our planet? Like what Fang says, the world may be heating up naturally, but the human race is definitely adding to the process.

I think the ones cheering don't quite get it. Our waterfront cities around the world are going to eventually be underwater. Ocean levels are rising fast, and many will die; and million or billions of people will be displaced. It's amazing for sure to watch this but it's kind of sad to know the how it will affect our planet and its inhabitants.

This is a natural process that has happened for millions of years. Climate change *is* a thing, but this particular glacier calving is not a symptom of it. Glaciers *always* calve.

***** You are aware that there is ice on land masses right? So yes melting ice will cause sea level change. Also as the ocean gets hotter it expands, and this also causes sea level change. So, no, the world is not going to drown, but yes, there will be sea level change upwards. How big a problem that will be? No one knows yet.
