Very nice. Lake was so beautiful and so was the weather.

Great spot! Always a nice place in shoulder season. Another place close by to there is landslide lake. It’s a beautiful lake lots of cool camping.

Yep, spring or fall it's typically pretty awesome. I think I know some people that go in there in the winter as well but that's a different type of backpacking!

Another gorgeous area. I can't hear Banff without thinking about the old US TV series F-Troop. One episode was about the Burglar of Banff (pronounced ban-fuh-fuh).

It is stunning! And yes the lack of tour buses is always a plus :-)

You met the good weather fairy Stu! It can get very windy which is why the fire pit area is a little “built up”. But definitely a good overnighter getaway
@HowestheHike Жыл бұрын
I can imagine the wind would be pretty bad there at times. I certainly have had great luck with Weather this year and I'm very thankful for that! It's a Stirling Place and I'm glad I went there and it makes a perfect overnight in a great place to test out equipment and take the family

Have you checked out Kinglet Lake near Abraham Lake? A great lil spot, hopefully be out that way next week. Hopeful to run into you on the trail some day.

Not yet! But thank you for the great tip I really appreciate it. So many places to explore and so little time! Hope to run into you one day as well :-)

I’ve caught up on your content. I’ll say you’ve hit on something good with the One Night Stand idea. Don’t quit your full length videos though. They’re awesome. I like the idea of the stuffing dinner. I’ll be experimenting with that but I’ll add dried cranberries instead of corn. Thanks, Stewart.

I appreciate your support for the one night videos. And of course don't worry, the long hikes are still my thing. In fact I just released a video of my 145 km hike on the Clearwater Red Deer circuit. This will always be a channel about epic places and epic hikes. But, sometimes an overnight or two is also worth sharing! Thanks again for your support :-)

Man I’d love to get out west again although the last time I was out there I wasn’t into hiking ….your doing a great job on the videos boss and if your looking for a hiking partner back east let me know….doing the SNMT starting September 9 if you wanna join lol

Thanks so much, I really appreciate that! And I'd take you up on that but I will be probably in the Bob Marshall wilderness or Yellowstone at that point. At least that's the plan at the moment :-) enjoy your hike!

It's fairly easy to get camping reservations, especially in that spot, not popular at all! Just posted a video last week explaining all 5 ways to get good camp spots in the Canadian Rockies. There's ALOT of day hikes back in there, you're better to stay for a few nights & do some day hikes. Icefields galore there.
@HowestheHike Жыл бұрын
Yes it's a great area for setting up camp and exploring. One of the things I've been preaching all summer is for people to cancel the reservations with Parks Canada, even though they may not get much back. My hikes to skyline and to Skoki were both because of last-minute cancellations. It does happen!
@EricTremblayAdventures Жыл бұрын
@@HowestheHike I just give them away! I used cancellation scans to give away two trips to OHara this summer and a weekend at Shadow Lake. My pet P is people showing up without reservations, seen that a lot this summer in Banff
