I think max q then w; you can keep enemies in cage for longer , and you can use w under tower to pick the tower shots :). There is a few neat tricks on yorick that are great .. i.e. you can let go of maiden if you need to (decoy or push) .. bc procs of ghouls so bc and trinity give you nice speed boost all the time.

Tower attacks cannon when usually melees are first at tower after they die it's straight to cannon so maybe it prios maiden the same way or something

Tower Priority is Yorick W > Canon > Ghouls > Maiden > Minions. If you have graves prepped, you can cast W, then summon more Ghouls as your last ghoul dies to keep the aggro off the Maiden for a really long time.

Btw you can spawn your wall in and it will take a tower shot before your maiden but after your ghouls if you want to block a shot

If you wait for a cannon wave, the tower will attack the cannon minion before it will attack your maiden. Use this for poking thw enemy with your E or when killing a turret!

I really like Yorick and I think he is super strong against most melee top lane match ups, however, I feel like he's really bad against some ranged and especially mobile match ups (who can jump out of your w for example). I normally really dominate top lane with the ghoul poke and trade and split push like crazy later but when I played Akali it felt like I was completely powerless. She could always poke me with her knife thingies and when I tried to trade back she just jump away from either my q or e and out of my w. And if she felt like it she could just jump back in hit me then do the shroud so I can't attack her again (besides just blindly guessing with my e if it's not on cd) and poke me with the knives again during that. It felt like she outranged me and could just jump out of all my spells and then jump back in when they're on cd and outtrade or even all in me. Even when I tried to step back and let her push me in under tower she could go in with shroud, get me low and jump in and out constantly and damage me with her knives. Any tips on how to play against these kind of match ups (it was blind normal btw so "don't pick him against that" doesn't really work^^)?

My advice here will be questionable, but it's free. =D Against Akali, you are looking to survive her burst combos and avoid letting poke damage kill you -- you can push far harder and farm more effectively than she can, so if she can't ever kill you she's useless and has to wander off. I actually go Sheen + Kindle Gem, into Frozen Mallet and then a finished Warmog's Armor. You can get above 3000 hp very early in the game if you build these first. Health items make your ghouls and especially your maiden tankier too. (25% value on ghouls, 75% value on maiden -- 325 extra ghoul hp and 1075 extra maiden hp. This is also why Grasp of the Undying and Overgrowth can be good on Yorick.) You can, if you aren't pressured to finish Warmog's Armor, finish the Trinity Force first (even before Frozen Mallet). Probably your mistake is trying to beat Akali in lane by trading damage with her. She bursts, runs out of energy, and has to reset. And since she's a mana-free champ, she can do this ALL game long once she has health sustain. The only way to counter a mana-free champion is to conserve your own mana as much as you can. With Yorick... this means sticking mainly to just using his Q to last hit, using W or E only if you must. Keep your maiden alive, too. You want Akali to be nervous at least about trying to trade. As far as landing attacks on Akali or any champion that zips around; good luck. Yorick's W and E both have a delay. You'll miss a lot if you proactively fish with these abilities. You have to be reactive. After Akali auto-attacks or jumps in, she's vulnerable. And if she wants to do more than stand there and watch you dominate lane, she has to come in sooner or later. She'll want to jump you right after you Q, but your Q has such a short cooldown that it's not much of a window for her. Hold back the W and E til she does something interesting, then go after her. And yeah, the smoke cloud is annoying. It has a long cooldown so if she's not out when it clears you can get aggressive for a moment. You can go Sheen + Vampiric Scepter (part of your eventual Death's Dance) or even get Death's Dance early/first. If you can farm to stay at nearly full health, it's equally frustrating for Akali. She's an assassin, and assassins are designed to aggressively force a fight with an already injured target. This is why a ton of extra health or some lifesteal (or both, as Yorick eventually gets) can be a counter to them. I prefer rushing Frozen Mallet because of the 40% slow and 700 extra health. You are suddenly not safe to approach, and just her dagger poke can't really hurt you.

akali is a really easy matchup for yorick, but it can be tough if you have a hard time against akali in general. the way to kill akali as yorick is the same as killing any other champion,get 3-4 graves wait for them to step up for farm, land e to buy lane dominance and kill pressure. dont overextend for farm and play safe. wait for lvl 6, land e, kill akali. if you get good at the match up it becomes really easy to predict movement within akalis shroud, and if you land e ghouls and maiden will melt and reveal akali allowing you to whack her. steraks gage second item is a massive powerspike against akali and literally every other champion. hope this helps

What you mean? You didn't understand the idea? Well he takes the R with him to the enemy jg and takes the ally golems going back to lane, he's power farming That way he gets full build so early, so the enemy team can't stop him, and he pushes so hard that the enemy team have to come, so his team can take objectives really easy As you can see he has 300 cs at 24 min, the perfect farm is 10 cs per minute if you didn't know, he is over the perfect farm
