A weekend of glaciers, mountains, shelf roads, mines, and friends. We reached over 9000ft (almost 3000m).

Looking forward to Part 2 so I can say a big good on you guys for rebuilding the road across the washout up "McD". I was talking to Valentin while I was out there and told him that it had washed out. I think we were just up there a few days or a week prior to your crew and we didn't have the man power required, so we hiked to the mine and that was a real pain. Camping at the top would have been awesome. V said the road was already washing back out a few hours later so it's gonna be a challenge to keep it open? Anyway wanted to say thank you for putting in the hard work once again Denny. A gentleman and a scholar. Great video too.

Great video. This one really shows the scale of the area well. But I really have to wonder, with all that traffic up there, and a new KZbin video with this place in it popping up every couple of days, is this place gonna go the same way MollyB did soon? I hope not, but I better get there soon and make my own video!
@DennyOfTheAlpine5 ай бұрын
the only chance we have to keep them open is using, and maintaining them. In part 2 we have to rebuild the road to use it. This area is definitely seeing more action due to the west Koot's being under fire. Moly closed due to politics, and grizzly habitat etc. Also, nobody wanted to clean, and maintain the road at Moly, so it was easy for them to close it.
@rubichronic20115 ай бұрын
@@DennyOfTheAlpine It is 100% untrue that nobody wanted to clean the road at MollyB. Nobody was even given an option. There were no talks, discussions, or any offered opportunities to the 4WD community. I live an hour from Molly and I would have been all over the opportunity to volunteer my time to keep it open. I went to MollyB multiple times over about 10 years, and it was always clean and the trail remained unchanged, with the majority of users respecting the area. The one time I managed to find a couple bags of trash abandoned in the woods, I was able to identify the group that left it to the local CO, and he told me that he thought the 4WD community was usually well behaved in the area. MollyB was shut down because of it's rapidly growing popularity. KZbin videos certainly played a part, but it would be unfair to try and pin it on that alone. It became too popular for it's own good. I agree with you completely that we need to use these areas if we wish to retain access, but I'm not entirely sure bringing up huge groups of vehicles is doing us any favours. Kind of seems like a damd if we do, damd if we don't situation. With all that said, looking forward to the next video.
