I can see why they are easy to compare, but there are a lot of differences as well, especially in the lyrics. Whether they drew inspiration from her or not (tbh, I doubt it), it shouldn't overshadow the fact that it's still a great song written by 3 very talented young people, and at the end of the day, you can only write so many songs without one sounding similar to another, whether it be similar chords or instrumental arrangements. So I don't see the point of dwelling on this issue people seem to be having. Just enjoy both songs and I don't think it's beneficial to think they 'ripped off' another artist, especially if they didn't.

Jesus christ why are people getting so triggered by the 4 seconds of 'similarity' at the beginning. Demi Lovato/the other writers of Body Say don't own a crotchet followed by two eighth notes in a 4/4 time signature, nor do they own the concepts of basic percussion - e.g. drumming in sync with notes to create emphasis, or clapping every second beat. The three notes in the opening riff don't even follow the same pattern - in Body Say the melody goes 'level, down, level', whereas in Dangerous they goes 'level, up, level'. The songs are also very different from a melody and chord structure point of view. tl;dr, ya'll need to take a musicology class before you start complaining/hating on the song because it 'sounds' like Body Say
