Yup. Glad beasts has always been about tagging in and out fusion monsters. Contact fusion only becomes a problem when even an already tier 1 deck also gets them, despite already having a million extenders and can play through a dozen interruptions. Looking at you, yubel and snake eyes

GBs are one of my all time favorite archtypes. Magister and Claudius reads like custom cards and I'm here for it. January cant come fast enough

The Glad cards are actually amazing. the Deck desperately wanted Bear for a long time. It's the E-Tele for 2, but it's extension if you could start playing immediately OR serves as a 1.5 card starter to get the ball rolling as a your Normal Summon. Magister not only he debricks the hand, but also summons another name "by the effect of a 'Gladiator Beast' monster" while also searching Field Spell or the other crazy GB spells. The Field Spell's discard search sets-up some of the best Turn 1 Glad cards like Darius, Equeste and Comeback. Then the Field Spell letting you set War Chariot in the EP to pair with negate fusions and New Claudius summoning Gyzarus as Icarus Attack is a great way to shore up the Combo variants loss of Apollousa. The new link is whatever, but it's nice to have in case of interruption or if you want to play a more Mid-rangey style and win across multiple turns like the old GB's. These cards are a Fire King Tier level glow-up and open the door to so many plays while making the older ones so much easier. 10/10 Konami you were in your bag on this one.

True.I fell in love with Gbs while playing 5d's Over the Nexus.Later on I made GB decks with Rescue Rabbit,Unexpected Dai,Union Barrier to make the Infinite Negate lock to make the GBs Rogue but still was loosing to 2 handtraps.😂😂 Finally it seems this might work.

Glads were my 1st competitive deck and this is utterly amazing. Every card here will be used and they all do so much for deck. Also the new link, you will most likely want to still go into it if you go first if not just to add another name to GY. (Though may not even need it depending on hand). LOVE this support!

Glad Beasts' current problem is the same as Magispecter and Genex. You hit their starter link monster (Test Panther) with any of the 9 billion handtraps everyone is maindecking because every meta deck is made of 10 billion one-card starters, their turn is over. Test Bear is good because it can allow you to cheat out high-level Glads and go into Dom before you commit to Panther, which is further complemented by Magister. The fact that Magister basically does Panther's job on top of that is in fact the bandaid that the deck need. Still dogwater because you need two cards to go off, but the new stuff helps.

The Chaos Ruler stunning the effects of you opponent's monsters is a reference to how Light Barrier worked in the anime. However, what I would've done to make it funnier is make it so your opponent needs to toss a coin whenever they would summon any monster and if they hit tails the summoned monster effects are negated. Make it so both players have to play with fate.

Some dumb aplications for the Heirophant that aren't just for making material for chaos ruler. Keep in mind that under light barrier, You get to choose their effect since you were the player to summon the card for them. Giving your opponent The Fool with its heads effect in attack opens a path for direct attacks, and it cant targeted by their own effects if that were to help them remove it. Assuming you can make the Chaos Ruler without using the arcana you give them, you can cheat out Dark Ruler and get 8000 "direct" damage for game. Going first you give them The Empress with its tails effect, and if you route it right and use the grave effect of Arcana Reading, you can get 2 normal summons and force your opponent to hand rip themselves for 2. Lastly you can play The Chariot if you dont have light barrier up. If it gets heads you still just use it for Chaos Ruler Material, however if they get tails you get control of it again if you wanted to extend on your side for, I dont know, plan B pass

I get not liking Contact Fusing but: A) Contact Fusion was literally the prototype for Synchro summoning and arguibly every other alternate summoning mechanic that came later. B) While Neo Spacians were terrible, especially before their modern support, they crawled so that Gladiator Beasts could sprint. Contact Fusing has been their main thing from day 1 and they tore the meta a new arsehole back in the day. PS: Hell, Contact Fusing allowed for the new Gate Guardian archetype. Allowing us to finally play it like Para and Dox did back in Duelist Kingdom and then some.

3:00 I have an idea! So u summon the world to your opponent’s field, then they flip the coin! If it’s tails u can add the top card of your GY so ok I guess. BUT, if it’s heads, u geonator transverser it back to yourself, then pray the ruling is that u can use its effect in end phase to skip turn even though it says YOUR end phase and it was on the opponents side when it activated. If somebody can clarify this ruling, we potentially have a table 500 replay.

3:03 The Fool is a good one for the tails effect of Hierophant, since it can’t switch to defense mode and cannot be destroyed by battle. You’d probably need something degenerate like rivalry + Gozen to keep it from getting linked off or tributed though.

Arcana Force looks super consistent, the Boss monster is a one sided skill on a gigantic body which is really strong, but I just don't see what you can back it up with because the only playable Arcana Force cards are the new ones and they're all extenders. Only decent "old" one is The Fiend which searches the field spell, so another consistency booster.

EXACTLY. It drives me crazy that cards like Maxx “C” and Effect Veiler were considered floodgates in 2011. But now people try to act like they’re different than Skill Drain players while running Ash and Imperm. It’s literally the same game plan, run your opponent out of plays.

Truth be told the deck didn't want an Omni since the fusions were already pretty good. What we got was pretty much what they wanted. Debricking, an In-archetype e-tele for 2, Search-ability for the Spell/Traps. The new Fusion being Icarus Attack with Gyzarus is just the cherry on top.

I think Farfa is off the mark on the new Arcana force cards. They're not bad at all, they're actually REALLY good. Now I agree it's not enough to make them meta or anything but that's mostly because the archetype was so bad to begin with. The new cards are strong and might be enough to make them rogue-level good but again, not tiered meta or anything.

glad player here 1 an upgrade to test tiger, but looses even harder to ash 2 magister is good 3 the new fusion, might be an unpopular opinion, but he doesnt do anything.. instead of cheating the negate out, you cheat him out? so you just gain another body thats all 4 the link is basically a better test panther, the relevant part is, he has gladiator beast in the name (which panther should have had, lets be real here)... and it is basically the same choke point. 5 the field spell is good, it would be better if it didnt discard tho. in the past Hand size was too small to take advantage of heraklinos for the most part. Thats all? what a joke

I mean, u can end up on 2 Dominitiamus, S:P, Harbinger, the new fusion to cheat out Gyzarus or Heraklinos in the opponents turn and a glad beast trap Set and 1 or 2 cards in hand. Pretty impressive to me. But yeah, there are some crucial chokepoints.
