Ryse: Son of Rome is a 2013 action-adventure video game developed by Crytek and published by Microsoft Studios. Set in an alternate version of Ancient Rome, Ryse follows the life of the Roman centurion Marius Titus as he becomes one of the leaders in the Roman Legion. Gameplay revolves around Marius using his sword to strike enemies and shield to deflect attacks. Execution sequences are featured in the game, which are quick-time events that serve as an extension to combat. The game features a cooperative multiplayer mode, which tasks players to fight against waves of enemies in maps that are changing dynamically.

This was a launch title on the Xbox one (Nov 2013) , graphics still put modern games to shame and it has some of the best lip sync I've seen in any game to date

I use to love this game. They don’t need to change a thing. It’s still better than today’s games in both graphics and gameplay. There’s only one thing that it needs. A freaking sequel..

This game was so ahead of its time. There are new titles coming out today which do not look half as good as this, especially when it comes to choreography and animation quality and the overall atmosphere. Absolute masterpiece.

Ryse: Son of Rome, by Crytek, made with their in house engine "CryEngine", released 2013. There is talk of a sequel coming. Great game, repetitive and simple combat, but with lots of animation flair. It wasn't designed to be a deep combat experience. It was designed to push the maximum output of the xbox one's graphics and animation with fluid animations and situational triggers within a compelling narrative. They achieved just that.

Ryse son of Rome was an awesome story driven historical fictional game. Played it long time ago with my old cheap PC. Don't know why Crytek failed to make a sequel.

Xbox’s forgotten exclusive. Such an amazing game. I still go back to it every now and then. Whats sad is i know that it would have been talked about alot more if it was from sony.

I really enjoyed this game,since there weren't (still aren't) many games set in that time period. But this game was really short - I wish the entire single player campaign was more than 4 hrs long.

Microsoft bunun artık kaçınılmaz olduğunu anladı fakat Crytek adına çok geç artık. Zamanında en iyi grafikmotoruna(Cry👁Engine) sahiplerdi. Umarım Cyrsis 4 ile muhteşem bi dönüş yaparlar çünkü bunu hak ediyorlar ve tabi biz oyuncular da😂

Game left me wanting more. It’s more of a movie experience than a game. The gameplay is repetitive but the cut scenes and kill animations are so good. As people have said it is gorgeous in 4K a testament to crytek and their engine. Many modern games look crap compared to this beautiful game. I wish the single player was longer. Gladiator mode was interesting but also very repetitive. I still want a sequel.
