I feel like it's probably something to do with Reflex Guard being honestly crap as it currently is, but as an Assassin people outright _dont_ get auto parried on the activation of revenge; they can literally just keep hitting and it _can_ end up with you getting the entire revenge shield more than halved from the point where you activate revenge to the point where you can move.
