It happens sometimes. For example a Duet Album that Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross did in the 1970's was a flop in the US but it was successful in the UK. You can hear James Jamerson on Bass, Ivory Joe Hunter on Piano.

Yeah, a lot of people say this is Babbit, and performance is pretty tame for Jamerson, but it has enough of his idiosyncrasies to identify it as his - and while Babbit's tone was *similar* to Jamerson's (played a P as well) but this bass track has that distinct, warm thump that can only come from those giant, dead labella flats he played.

Had the privilege of seeing her four times. The second concert she sang this at an outside concert in Cincinnati and I cried like a baby. This is my favorite song all all artists combined. She sang it the last two times, but some what butchered with a guy singing first and her leaving off the last verse. Still, I love it!

Realize I am getting this out late but here goes -- A big thank you to whomever created this video. You can tell time & care was taken to put this video together. Like someone said a long time ago in this thread, usually I am not a fan when extras & extended versions are added, but I take a few exceptions & this song is one of them. The song gets me every time & this extended version brings it on home even more so. Wherever Gladys Knight is I am sure she'd approve.
