Hyperpop fans really should be grateful to Glaive for bridging that gap between hyperpop and actual good music

Why should i be greatful, Ericdoa did it already in his own unique style. And who are you to decide what actual good music is? IMO this is Glaives worst album till this date, there are artists that are in this gap for years for example "Juno" or newcomers like "Stim"(Brim) that did a way better job in mixing hyperpop with mainstream tunes

@@lilehre6437 Ericdoa has been pop since like forever, only his first very early projects were hyperpop, also Juno does not sound like the Album at all lol?

imo icsmtidcaa is a really great album, idk maybe it dropped at just the perfect time for me (legit one week before my 20th birthday) and im biased but i honestly love the sound and his singing is beautiful. dont rly get the hate for it aside from it just not being hyperpop... also while i agree that this new album isnt perfect im curious to see what your criticism is on it :D

I really love the direction he is going in rn. i think the return to ss03 was a big part in this too. it was also making music that he actually wanted to instead of doin the shit his label told him to.

Yo, I see it with some of the visuals I guess, but I don’t really see the Quadeca comparisons tbh. Maybe some sound selection(?) I feel like he blends a lot of aspects from his old stuff and the tone is different. Also, the transitions on this album are underrated

i think people forget that he was 15 during the hyperpop era, ofc as he ages his taste/style are gunna change. i think he gets too much hate for being such a young artist, let him do what he wants and support him or just dont listen to him
@byejuyo3 күн бұрын
I was one of the people who stopped listening to him around the time that three wheels dropped. I never exactly ‘hated’ on his new music or anything but I do remember that it wasn’t the fact that his music was changing that I didn’t like but rather the music itself, and clearly at the time a good portion of his fans felt the same. Another artist in the scene who did a similar thing was heylog and he started experimenting a lot and changing his sound a bit, and I loved it. There was clearly an audience for glaives new stuff tho, I remember going onto his discord server and comment sections and stuff and seeing people who loved his new stuff

I was only listening to hyperpop from like 2020 to 2023 ish and tbh I kinda didn’t expect it to just flat out die. I thought new artists would come along but nah not really and the ones who did weren’t very good. It’s kinda a shame how short-lived hyperpop as a genre was, most of the time nowadays when I see people mention hyperpop it’s artists who made it in the past or ones that I guess could kinda be classified as hyperpop-ish like 2hollis or charli xcx

@@byejuyo hyperpop has existed for a good while now, several artists have attempted it. whether its sophie(rest in peace), bladee, quadeca, brakence etc. the genre is still very much alive you just gotta look in the right places, trust me!
@byejuyo3 күн бұрын
Didn’t Sophie make hyperpop before 2020? I wasn’t too into it back then so I’m not that knowledgeable of pre-2019 hyperpop. I do listen to quadeca a lot and brakence is my top artist of all time, which is why I have a brakence pfp. Also I am currently trying to get into bladee but it’s not easy. I listened to eversince and had to turn that shit off after two songs because it was trash, but I am trusting the process of forcing myself to listen to him until I like it considering I also used to dislike brakence when I first listened to him in early 2020. also sorry for the long comment but I would appreciate it if you could recommend me other artists in the genre cause I don’t really listen to it at all anymore

@@sleepstreamers prick was the lead single for old dog new tricks, and it for sure has hyperpop elements but it was his most poppy song til that point imo!
