If you get any hate in the comments for your tips, those people obviously don’t understand thin, fine, healthy hair and how stinkin hard it is to get it to hold a curl. Everyone these days has thick, over processed, textured, dry hair and then there’s the 1% of us that don’t. I wanted texture and dry hair sooo bad I would get super curly perms to achieve it ha!

I remember getting my hair done as a bridesmaid and the stylist grumbled under her breath 'Your hair's just so healthy!' she spent forever curling my hair and it barely looked like it styled by the time the wedding started. Thank you for the advice, with fine hair it's really hard add volume, curl, or style.

this confirms everything ive been observing for decades, despite everyone telling me dirty is better. I also want to mention that people should make sure they don't have too much silicone build up in their hair. That was my problem for like 2 years. Loved your video and it is sooo true! I appreciate you mentioning the difference between clean and dirty hair. I agree with you - and natural oils weigh down the hair, so washing is good. In support of your instructions, I am 53 and many professionals have commented on the health of my hair. The best results I've had were when the hair was 100% dry, curling smaller sections, and waiting for it to cool. Products: moose and sexy hairspray. While I most often use heat to curl my hair, I've also discovered putting rollers in my wet hair and letting it dry 100% before removing them keeps the curl longer, too. You just have to have the time and patience.

I can't believe you didn't mention pinning the curl to your head after you slide it off the iron without dropping it, to allow it to cool. It's probably the most efficient way to have curls last. It's a tiny bit of extra work that really pays off.
@GlamGirlGabi3 жыл бұрын
It’s funny you mention that because I actually did and then I edited it out because the video got too long and I figured most people wouldn’t do it because it’s too time consuming.

My hair is so fine, perms used to wash out within weeks when I was a kid. Now, I don’t get them,but hair color washes out within 2 weeks, and I have to start using color shampoos to try to preserve the copper color. And I only wash it twice a week! Looks best using a narrow wand and mousse. Blow drying only breaks it.

Watching for a friend 🫠 But it’s true even for naturally wavy/curly hair! I used a different gel to style my 2C/3A that sucked all the moisture out, the curls looked great & I thought I found the one but a few days later I had to untangle a few of my curl clumps which left them straight! I had to wet & rehydrate them before they where scrunchable, the rest still looked great by weeks end. Thanks for the tips, I’m sending this to my friend!☺️

I've never straighten/curled my hair ever in my life, I've always had gorgeous curls I grew to my waist. I got really sick, lost half my hair, had to do a sizeable chop, & my curl pattern changed completely with the lack of weight & meds. I refuse to learn how to style it lmao, so I've been trying to just curl it with a straightener, & bc my hair is in such great shape from never heat styling, it's not taking. Thank you so much, this was so helpful!!!

I think it might also just be your hair texture too, for example my hair is virgin and as far as I can tell healthy (nearly never using any heat, never styling with heat; and it looks shiny enough, I guess), but while it looks straight for the most part, after a shower, when I dry it a bit with a towel it is wavy. Only later the waves get looser and looser and the brush ends the job making the hair straight. But the ends are always curling a little bit regardless (from touching the shoulders etc.). That's also why a good haircut (chin-length with bangs) was self-sustaining for me, I didn't have to style it but it still looked great. Trying the "curly girl method" showed that it is indeed a little bit wavy. That's probably why when I use heartless curls they do stay at least a day (loosened up but still pretty), and with a styling foam way longer. Maybe your hair is just more straight than the person's whose results you tried to replicate?

I have straight silky hair, natural color. I do nothing to them and people sometimes ask where do I go for keratin treatment. but the problem is - my hair is very thin at the same time. without products, it won't hold curls even after curling iron. it has no volume and can look greasy after couple hours after washing. sometimes I just look like a wet dog. I fell into category 1 and am now category 2 because of one product I found at Sally's of all places. Loreal's nature therapy mega moisture. I have fine thin hair so I truly thought this would weigh my hair down but I've been using it for almost 2 years every time I shampoo and my hair appears thicker, healthy, shiny, no static electricity, AND it holds a curl. @GlamGirlGabi3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! All of these things in combination should definitely help you out. Don’t give up on the curling iron. It seems tricky at first until you get it and then it sticks (kind of like riding a bike). If you really want something easier, try a wand instead. It drops faster typically but it is an easier method of curling because you don’t have to fuss with any clamps.

Your videos are wonderful! I love that blunt Bob because i don't necessarily have fine hair, i just don't have a lot of hair. Always been a more than average natural shedder, and alas combine that with my trichotillomania which I've dealt with since i was 9, I'm 41 now. I've gotten a lot better at recognizing and having self control but it's not easy. I lost handfuls of hair after my 2nd daughter, now 16 yrs old. It never seemed to come back or at least not as much. I've never had ungodly thick hair though. Luckily i can hold curls quite well, i loved the tips given though as i keep experimenting with less heat for the integrity of my color damaged head 😂 I love coloring my hair, and change it often. And avoid bleach as much as possible.

The hairstylist I used to go see used a straightener to curl my hair, but the curls do not last at all. However, if I use a thinner curling wand, the curls last longer. I’m gonna have my aunt be my hairstylist for my wedding this year. She’s a cosmetologist and she is trying to decide what she should use for my hair. Another option I was debating on was using hot rollers because when I was younger, they were very effective. But nowadays, I'm not so sure since I've colored my hair. I'm not sure if it would work the same. Keep in mind, half of my hair is healthy and half of it is damaged. Previously, I had a balayage, but then decided to do my hair my natural hair color, and I used a product called Paul Mitchell’s PM Shines. It's a demi-permanent hair color that is ammonia-free. It is a liquid gel formula that contains a conditioning agent from meadowfoam seed that helps repair damage and intensify shine. It also contains Intense Hydrating Complex (IHC) that penetrates deep into the hair shaft for intense hydration. The shampoo I use is Biolage Hydra Source Shampoo. It hydrates and moisturizes dry hair. For conditioner, I use Biolage Hydra Source Detangling Solution. It detangles and controls static for less frizz and fly-aways because my ends are dead, they get frizzy and have split ends. Keep in mind, I have thick hair and I hope I’m using the right products. My aunt recommended BIOLAGE. If there's anything I can do to change my routine, let me know down below in the comment section.
