This is actually quite a beautiful speech. It wasn't tacky, it was moving and funny which is tricky to pull off. To say Joan was a trailblazer for women in comedy is saying half of the story. Any fearless comic nowadays owes some of it to her. She had gigantic balls of steel. And she will not be forgotten. She's in every "in your face" joke or fearless and poignant remark off a comedians lips. That's how you know you've made it. And she did.

I was gloriously insulted in public by Joan once while waiting for an elevator to my doctor's office I was visibly pregnant - she was coming down the stairs because the elevator in that medical building was notoriously slow . There was a crowd of us all waiting for it when she came out of the stairwell, took a beat, and looked right at me and said "why don't you take the stairs?" Like I was the laziest person on earth. I was offended for a moment, wondering who this little rude woman was telling me to take the stairs, like I was lazy. Couldn't she see I was pregnant? It was only after she swept out with perfect comedic- and dramatic- timing, that I realized it was Joan! Joan Rivers had put me into a joke! It was a huge compliment and a very iconic moment in my life, but she had already swept out by the time I realized what had happened . A true genius and a legend. A comic to her core.

I remember when Joan Rivers spoke up about the Israel/Gaze conflict, and she stood up for Israel. making everyone hate her and giving her Death Threats just for supporting a country. An amazing person unfortunately passed away but i will never forget her, and i will always remember to ''Never shut up''

spongefire10 She was saying she didnt care that Israel were dropping shells on children every day... Go look at the murder rate on each side. Every year its about 10,000 Palestinians and maybe 5 Israeli's. Lol, what a hero Joan was.

"She didn't want to be given credit for inspiring women. She wanted to be known as a great comedian, and she was." Her perseverance and love for the craft will be missed second only to her talent. No matter the boxes people put her in ("Old", "Mean", "Bitchy"), she stayed true to herself and became a legend. Amy did such a beautiful job.

@msuarez86298 жыл бұрын
4:04 I feel like now if an average girl were to make dark jokes she would be just as ridiculed as an average guy would be if he did the same thing. Perhaps when she was a child she dealt with some sexism regarding her humor, but now people do not care who said the dark joke, they are offended no matter what. Sexism isn't a problem in comedy, but people being uptight and too serious is.

Joan Rivers is the gutsiest comedian that we have seen in our lifetime because Unlike many She took the fear of saying what you were thinking and making it a joke but making sure that she made fun of herself first before she made fun of others . She was smart about her jokes and like Obama said : not only did she make us laugh. She made us think. A true smart comedian would find a way to talk about the issues to make people stay alert on it . Ahe was a genious and I miss her like If i lost my grandma .
