Well, she makes 36k after taxes, which is a little misleading. Most people report their salary as the pre-tax amount. So if you were looking at it that way, she'd be making more like $55k.

It’s not that she doesn’t know how to save, she chooses to spend over save. She recognizes she’s spendy so that in its self negates the “I don’t know how to save”. She has a good bit left over after bills to put at least $200 a month aside. The “sometimes I make $3k sometimes it could be $7k” bit is still an excuse. As long as the $3k is her minimum she makes, she can save something especially when she has the income spikes. I love that she’s debt free but that can easily change if an emergency situation arises. Hopefully she gets more disciplined over time.

Um. $36k per year to be a celebrity personal assistant is absolutely abysmal.

Looking at her spending, I believe she still can save somehow. She just feels that she MUST spend everything that she makes. She said so herself. "I may make 3000 now and 7000 next month. That is why I feel like I am not allowed to save or invest." I do not get how someone is NOT ALLOWED to save nor invest. This video freaks me out and makes me want to save and invest even more. A good example of what NOT to do.

Saddest part is I looked up the area that would be walking distance to the couple places she mentioned, rent STARTS at $1,500 there, which means she 100% has a roommate. This girl is at the beck and call of a celebrity, cannot afford to put money away for savings, and can't even afford to live alone. I get she is freelance but that is disgusting on part of her employer.

Great job staying out of debt! That’s hard. Look up “Financial Peace University” by Dave Ramsey. He has a simplified program that helps anyone with any income learn how to manage money and prepare for life’s unpredictability, even if your income is flexible. My husband and I did it, and it’s actually given us the freedom to spend. When you’re able to maintain a budget, you don’t feel guilty about the money you spend since you’ve planned where each dollar will go instead of wondering where it went later.

Since when does 36K a year mean 36K a year? Does she not pay taxes?

I was thinking the same! I make 38k and my net pay is only like 2k a month so I'm not sure how she manages this. Maybe she's paid under the table?

She said she’s a freelancer and sometimes makes 3,000 or 6,000 per month 36k is assuming she’s only making 3,000 per month

Parents and if your older your insurance is not as high especially if you find a cheap insurance plan. Mine used to be $900 every 2 months and I started switching insurance companies until I got down to $240 for full coverage at Allstate. But I also know the girl who works there so she hooked it up dk how but she hooked it up.

Eating out used to be my weakness! I easily used to spend a hundred to $220 a week on seamless alone, not including orders of Chinese food and my daily lunch. Once I started going to Trader Joe's, and I cut out sugars and soda, that all stopped. I just started cooking everything, and now I just buy my lunch, which is a $6 salad. Eating out is one of those sneaky things that tears up your wallet oh, you never noticed until the end of the month.
