Amanda’s understated “we all have our flaws” when announcing the presence of red worms in the hot spring is Hilarious to me. Serious belly laughed about that. The drone footage of the hot spring was really nice.

Amanda, when you took your top off at the mineral Springs, I thought three little old duffers Were gonna have a heart attack right there.😂😂. I definitely don’t like the idea of red worms, crawling up anywhere. Beautiful filming Bobby. That last shot at the restaurant right on the beach was beautiful. You guys are having a great trip. Yes, the Saturnia hot springs have red worms you are most likely going to encounter during your soak in the thermal baths. But honestly, they sound so much worse than they actually are. The Saturnia hot springs worms are these little red worms (just a couple of millimeters long) that are harmless and nothing to worry about. However, it is good to know that they exist and are totally normal to see in the waterfalls. You will want to shower and wash your bathing suit out right after the hot springs because there were still some red worms in our suits

Groovy episode. The red worms found in the hot springs in Italy, particularly around the Saturnia hot springs in Tuscany, are commonly referred to as ephydrid fly larvae or shore fly larvae. These are not actual worms but larvae of small flies that thrive in thermal environments: Harmless to humans.

With all the fantastic food and drink you are having on this trip the airline is going to charge you a surcharge for being overweight. The food looks fantastic and you are always eating in beautiful outdoor restaurants. I think you should submit your Italian videos to the Tourism Ministry Bobby. They may give you a contract to develop an online travel video with travel tips and the like to get the most out of your holiday.

🇮🇹😉👍🏻SATURNIA, THE OLDEST VILLAGE IN ITALY (google translate) The oldest village in Italy is located in Tuscany and is famous for its thermal waters. Which Tuscan village are we talking about? Saturnia, of course, a corner of peace and tranquility, a happy oasis born from a legend. In fact, the ancient myth tells that the god Saturn, father of Jupiter who then stole the sovereignty of the gods from his august father, one day became angry with men, who were always quarrelsome and ready to fight among themselves. So he hurled one of his lightning bolts, a divine prerogative, down to Earth. The lightning struck Tuscany and gave life to an aquifer that began to gush, making smoke, because the water that flowed from it was hot. Whoever bathed in those waters immediately became gentle and tame. This is how the Terme di Saturnia were born. Saturnia is in fact known throughout Italy and the world not only for its delightful historic center and the many vestiges of its past that it still possesses today, but above all for the thermal springs that characterize it. There are establishments where you can stay and enjoy the treatments, but also places where you can freely enjoy the sulfurous waters with prodigious powers. These waters reach Saturnia after a long journey in the bowels of Mount Amiata (an extinct volcano, with the last known activity dating back to about 200,000 - 300,000 years ago). During this journey they are soaked in many therapeutic properties, until they flow out at a temperature of 37.5 degrees, that of maternal amniotic fluid. In a word, immersing yourself in the waters of the Saturnia spa is like savoring the same sensation of tranquility, protection and absolute happiness that we experienced in the past only when we were still in our mother's womb. If the legends that are told about how the village of Saturnia was born are very suggestive, the historical stories are no less so. Saturnia is in fact a very ancient village. The first traces of a human settlement date back to prehistoric times, but the territory was certainly inhabited in the Etruscan era when the place was called Aurinia. Aurinia must have been the name of the Etruscan deity of water, which the Romans then renamed Saturnia. It was in Roman times, in fact, that the thermal baths were exploited intensively. Saturnia experienced many events, until it was destroyed in the 14th century. It later became the property of Siena and then of the powerful Medici family. Today you can discover the vestiges of its glorious past simply by taking a walk through the streets of the village, an activity that is just as pleasant as taking a bath in its famous thermal waters. In Saturnia there are still the remains of the castle walls, and the imposing silhouette of the Rocca Aldobrandesca stands fearlessly, with its tall crenellated tower. The most notable religious building is the church of Santa Maria Maddalena. It may seem a little disappointing from the outside, because unfortunately the original building was destroyed during the bombings of the Second World War, but its interior is a true treasure chest. Among the other valuable paintings there is a painting depicting the Madonna woven with gold threads. Saturnia is located along the Roman Via Clodia, between the Cassia and the Aurelia, and there are many traces that can be found from the times when the Romans were the rulers of Italy and the world. An ancient door and what were the thermal baths of the time remain from the Roman domination, which can now be admired in front of Via Ciacci near the fountain. The black and white mosaics depicting a fish and a seahorse are still visible. When you visit Saturnia, whatever the starting point, it is always to the thermal baths that you return: because its prodigious waters have the power to relax muscles, to dissolve tension, to restore body and spirit. They also dilate the lungs, help circulation, and are helpful in treating many skin diseases. To take a dip, you can go to the Cascate del Mulino, a truly enchanting place where the water forms many small waterfalls with their own lakes in which to immerse yourself. The waterfalls are outdoors and accessible to anyone who wants to experience the beneficial heat of the waters of Saturnia. For those who want to enjoy a complete service, there are dedicated facilities, namely the Terme di Saturnia Spa&Golf Resort. The resort is a large facility that allows you to enjoy all the beauties that Saturnia has to offer in a single solution. Inside, you can enjoy the proverbial Tuscan hospitality, you can taste local foods cooked by the best chefs and you can stay in a modern facility, equipped with all the comforts. But you can also enjoy an ancient wellness, which tells of distant and glorious times but never goes out of fashion, that guaranteed by the sulphurous thermal waters capable of washing away the stress and anxieties of a frenetic and always rushed life.
