Absolutely brilliant film with fantastic characters. This was 'real' Glasgow, I used to go every Saturday and Sunday as a wean in the 70's and loved it. Good to see the curtain sellers, there used to be butchers to, and even Tunnocks even had a stall there. Everywhere you went there was chart music playing. Happy memories, shame it's not a patch on what it used to be. There was a place next to Bills' Tools Store where you could go upstais and buy albums, loved it up there. Christmas time was absolutely 'magic' as a kid. Well done guys, this film surely deserves a place in the historical archives. All the best to you and yours, cheers.

One of the best videos I've ever seen on youtube. The way it captures the atmosphere of the Barras is amazing, they say people make Glasgow now but it really was special back then. Everyone's just up for a gab and a good laugh, no-one taking themselves too seriously. It's a bittersweet nostalgia as I want to go back so bad but it's utterly amazing to see it like this! You and all yer pals seem like good boys too. If I had a time machine you'd find me in this video. It's blown me away I can't stop reminiscing now. Don't think there's one person from Glasgow who wouldn't be connecting with this. My Granny and her tribe were from Tobago Street and moved to Balornock and Springburn after the war. As for the Barras, who hadn't been up for the pirate tapes and games. Ironically, when Customs n Excise etc halted that, it ripped the heart oot the place. @GIRO i think it's a number of things, maybe people's priorities have changed. Parents in the early 90s went through the 70s and 80s when money was tight, a Chinese meal was a treat, not something you grabbed on the way home on a Tuesday when you can't he arsed cooking like now. The traditional mum cooked meals at a certain time and there was no chance you missed it, now, personally I'm never sure when I'll be home so sometimes my family eat at 6, sometimes at 8, sometimes we all eat separately because its easy to just grab food, with that ease has come some seriously mass produced crap. People were way more active, we were a working class city with a high portion of manual jobs, kids were never home so spent little time sat on their arse. A taxi was a luxury, even getting a bus was out of the question of the shops were within a 25 minute walk each way, you'd see families with bags of messages walking a couple mile to Gateway and back
